We had such a special night out with one of my girlfriends and her two daughters on Thursday night. We had the opportunity to see Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate at The Palace of Auburn Hills!

I love having an excuse to spend one-on-one time with each of my girls, and it was my turn to take Kinley somewhere fun. I made the mistake of telling her we were going to the show a week in advance, so every day leading up to it, she asked when we were going. Turns out preschoolers have no sense of time ;) Thankfully the day arrived and she was SO EXCITED all day long and couldn’t wait to put on her dress.

For me, this was HUGE. Kinley does not like wearing dresses, but when I told her a lot of the little gals would be wearing them, she ran to get her “Cinderella” dress and put it on eagerly. I was just thrilled to see her pick out a costume that isn’t Sulley from Monsters Inc., which she wears EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. {Note to Disney On Ice peeps: Please make a show with Sulley in it, OK and maybe Elsa and Anna from Frozen, too!}

The little cuties we went with had to dress-up, too. And how cute are they?

Just chilling with Merida, Rapunzel and Cinderella!

If you go to the show, it may be a good idea for your little person to get dressed up as their favorite Disney character. So many cute kids wandered around! Another tip: Bring snacks…perhaps special ones. My little gal felt on top of the world getting a little bag of M&M’s all to herself! And it sure beat spending $10+ on some of the treats at the show.

As for the show, it was really neat. During each scene, Mickey, Minnie and their crew celebrated different holidays from around the world. It went from Halloween {kind of a dark scene with villans — the kids didn’t like this one!} to Valentine’s Day {the clear favorite since it had ALL the princesses}, to a Hawaiian luau, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan, Chinese New Year to Christmas and more. It was so fun trying to guess which holiday would be up next.

Kinley says her favorite character was Ariel “She had legs!”, but she also loved one of the final scenes with various Toy Story characters. I have to say, I thought Aladdin and Jasmine stole the show with their ice skating skills, but really, they all were fantastic skaters. I swear — it’s just like watching the Olympics! I have so much respect for these young skaters.

If you’re looking for something fun to do with kiddos this weekend, I highly recommend checking out Disney On Ice. The kids will love it, and I bet you’ll enjoy it as well!

    Aladdin and Jasmine definitely were some of the best skaters.
