I received my own passes from Oakland County Parks and Recreation to the waterparks for the purpose of this post.
Mother Nature’s thermostat has been cranked these past few days, which means one thing: WATER FUN. We are lucky to have tons of lakes, splash pads and more in this area, but two mega fun Oakland County Waterparks — Red Oaks Waterpark, {Madison Heights}, and Waterford Oaks Waterpark {Waterford}, stand out in my mind.

FEATURES OF RED OAKS WATERPARK:
- Soak Station, children’s water playground with 68 features, including water jets, curtains and slides, plus bubbler jets and a six-foot tipping bucket; must be 56″ or shorter and be accompanied by an adult.
- Spray & Play, a water play area for toddlers, with 15 water jets and bubblers at zero depth.
- The River Ride, a 990-foot long moving river {tubes provided}.
- Triple Turn, a triple-flume waterslide
- Terrific Tides wave-action pool. The pool is heated.

- The bottom surfaces of the water features include sand particles for foot traction. Guests may wish to bring water shoes for small children, or those with sensitive feet.

FEATURES OF WATERFORD OAKS WATERPARK:
~ Tropical Wave Pool includes palm trees and near the “shore.”
~ The Big Bucket children’s water playground features more than 30 interactive activities including a giant tipping bucket, waterfalls and sprays. Participants must be 56″ or shorter and accompanied by an adult.
~ Ragin’ Rapids, a group raft ride starts at a height of three stories; carries riders 515 feet through drops and turns; and ends in a three-foot deep splash-down pool.

I love both parks – my kiddos love the big tube slide at Waterford but I love the lazy river at Red Oaks…. its a toss up! But they’re both a great way to spend the day. 🙂
