I am a LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan Ambassador and will receive tickets in exchange for promoting the attraction. Views expressed are my own.
My daughter’s 5th birthday is next week and she has told everyone to buy her one item she can never get enough of: anything LEGO.
I’ve always been a fan of LEGO myself; pulling out our paper bag full of bricks and creating houses and towns for hours on our cool tile floor in our bi-level home. Still today, I find LEGO play one of the most relaxing activities to do with my kids. Needless to say, they have taken over our dining room table, and it can always be found covered with my girls’ little creations. If there is any toy in our home we couldn’t live without, it would be LEGO bricks in a heartbeat. I will definitely be keeping ours for the grandkids since they never go out of style!
Imagine my excitement when I learned a LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is coming to Michigan. I had thought about taking my girls to the nearest one in Chicago, but now am so excited I can stick closer to home.
The attraction broke ground yesterday morning at its new home — Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills — and has drummed up a lot of attention.
I mean, who out there doesn’t LOVE all things LEGO?!
Here’s the scoop on what’s to come:
- The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan will be indoors and 32,000-square-feet.
- There will be more than one million LEGO bricks and themed exhibits including a 4D cinema, two interactive rides, large soft play areas and a uniquely Michigan-themed MINILAND display.
- The attraction will offer families a fun, interactive and educational 2-3 hour experience and will be ideal for children ages 3-10 years old.
- LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan is a part of Merlin Entertainments, which is also the parent of SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan will open in spring 2016.
