According to a study, 1 in 3 families nationwide struggle with diaper need – the inability to provide clean, dry diapers for their child. Parents often have to choose between paying for food or purchasing diapers, which can lead to increased stress and strife.
In Michigan, the National Diaper Bank Network distributes 5.1 million diapers annually to families in need, but that still isn’t enough to serve all residents living in poverty. As a mom to a diapered toddler, these stats break my heart!
To combat this, Huggies and the Detroit Lions have teamed up to ensure Detroit area babies get the diapers they need to stay clean, dry and healthy. To raise awareness of diaper need, fans with tickets to the Lions game on Sunday, Oct. 23 can bring an unopened pack of Huggies diapers for entry into the No Baby Unhugged diaper donation pre-game event at Pride Plaza.
At the event, fans will have the opportunity to meet Lions alumni Herman Moore, Lomas Brown and Jason Hanson, and be entered for a chance to win prizes such as tickets to a future Lions game, Meijer gift cards and more. All game day diapers will be donated to the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank.
Fans not attending the game can contribute by simply donating their Huggies Rewards Points to benefit the National Diaper Bank Network, or you can help Meijer and Huggies donate up to $10,000 to the cause. For every Huggies diaper pack purchased at Meijer through Oct. 23, Huggies will donate $1 to the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank. Additionally, fans also can donate to the Lions No Baby Unhugged Amazon registry.
Such an easy way to give back that is SO needed!
Let’s keep our babies healthy, smiling, and in dry diapers 🙂
If you’ll be donating this upcoming holiday season, please consider a local diaper bank and help these littles in need!
