Pant Clinic at Clothing Cove for Grace Centers of Hope

Get Pants That Fit + Help Grace Centers of Hope at Clothing Cove Pant Clinic March 27-28 {Milford}

The Clothing Cove - Milford, MichiganI was compensated for this post with a Clothing Cove gift card. All opinions expressed are my own — especially when I say this store rocks. Because it does!

Ladies…I can’t be alone. I have been every size from 6 up to 14 in the past 10 years and have worn every style of pants possible, and I still don’t have a single pair of pants that fit correctly. Being 8 months postpartum hasn’t helped at all. Suffice to say, this event sounds like something I need to attend!

Pant Clinic at Clothing Cove for Grace Centers of Hope

The Clothing Cove, in charming downtown Milford, Michigan, is hosting a pant clinic this weekend, March 27-28 to put a positive spin on the elusive search for a great fitting pair of pants. For every customer who tries on a perfect fit pant, $2 will be donated to Pontiac-based Grace Centers of Hope to fight against homelessness and human trafficking.

“We have helped thousands of women across the nation in their search for great fitting pants,” said Clothing Cove owner Genise Horsley. “This is just a fun way to find the perfect complement to the body God gave you.”

Grace Centers Of Hope LogoIf you aren’t familiar, Grace Centers of Hope is an amazing rehabilitation center that has been helping men and women in Pontiac since 1942. They shelter anywhere from 150-200 people a night and serve about 100,000 meals a year. Grace Centers also partners with the non-profit All Worthy of Love to fight against human trafficking in Detroit. Fantastic cause, amiright?

For the Clothing Cove pant clinic, sales associates will be ready to help fit the skinny, straight, curvy and every customer in between with a wide selection of missy pants. The collection includes sizes 0 to 24W and features brands selected for their slimming nature, comfort, and durability. Such notable names as Renuar, Krazy Larry, Tribal, Raffinalla, and SlimSation will be shown. [Read more…]

Kroger and Shell

Remember a few weeks back how I discussed the Kroger Fuel Rewards program with Shell and gave away a $100 gas card? Well, I have another opportunity for you to win a gift card!

All you have to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form below so I have your email information, and then share a testimonial about the fuel rewards program in the comments for your chance to win a $50 gift card to either Kroger or Shell.

What I’m looking for:

  • 1 – 2 short sentences about how you are using the Kroger Fuel program.
  • Feel free to include how long you’ve been a member of the program, how much money you’ve saved over time or this year alone, or even mention of being able to go on a family road trip as a result of your Kroger Fuel Points.
  • For extra consideration, be sure to mention the program by name (i.e. Shell fuel rewards).

The folks at Kroger and Shell will be evaluating the testimonials and helping me choose a few winners, so do a good job 😉 Good luck!

Recipe: Simple Chicken and Veggie Stir-Fry

I’m not big on resolutions, but I do like to make goals throughout the year. One of my current ones is to eat more veggies. Don’t get me wrong, I actually love veggies. It’s the act of slicing and dicing and eating them before they go bad that I hate. Enter this simple veggie stir-fry.

I love greasy Chinese food. I crave it at least once a month, but we don’t get it often. For one, my hubby doesn’t like it {don’t get me started!} and two – we all know the Americanized version of Chinese food isn’t the healthiest.

I’ve decided I’m just going to start making it and making the whole family eat it! So, with the help of AllRecipes, I found several great stir-fry recipes. Unfortunately, none of them had what I was seeking {minimal ingredients and using frozen veggies}, so I came up with my own recipe. It was a big hit with the hubby AND the toddler!

 Stirfry Ingredients

1 can of chicken broth

3 tbsp of cornstarch

2 tbsp of low-sodium soy sauce

1 tsp of ground ginger

2 tsp of minced garlic {refrigerated kind for ease-of-use. Honestly, if you love garlic, add another teaspoon!}

1-16 oz. package of stir-fry frozen vegetables {or 5 cups of fresh veggies}

4 cups of brown rice OR 3/4 of a box of thin spaghetti {we use whole grain}

Stirfry Collage

Mix together soy sauce, cornstarch and broth in a bowl. Set aside.

Start boiling water for rice and/or noodles. Cook them as directed on the package.

Drop a little olive oil in a skillet {or Wok} and heat for a minute. Add chicken and cook until browned/cooked through. Remove chicken from pan.

In that same pan, add a tad more olive oil if needed and cook veggies until tender, sprinkling the ginger and garlic on top as it cooks. Once veggies are tender, add in the sauce {stirring first}. Cook until mixture starts to bubble up and thicken {about 5 minutes or so}. Add the chicken back in and cook until heated through.

Serve over your cooked rice and/or noodles.

Dinner is served! Tastes even better the second day as leftovers :)

What are your favorite recipes using lots of veggies?
