Ugh. As much as I hate to admit it, sometimes I enjoying watching a little trashy TV. After all, when I turn on the TV (which seems rare these days), it’s because I either want to catch up on the news or turn my brain completely off.
Here are some of my favorite guilty pleasure reality shows that I am should be embarrassed about:
1. Kendra. She’s dumber than a box of rocks in many respects, but even though she’s a former Playboy bunny, she comes across as a great mom. Plus, I just can’t help admiring her for building her brand the way she has. She either has great people behind her, or she really is smart. Plus, I think she’d be a riot to party with.
2. Teen Mom. I loooooooove this show. Maybe because I’m a parent myself? Maybe it’s the drama? Maybe it’s because I have hope that these young ladies are going to succeed? Regardless of what it is, I cheer for them and cry with them. It’s just an overall addicting show. And yes, I may have shed some tears recently when I read this season’s Corey and Leah divorced. Silly, but I had high hopes for them!
3. Toddlers & Tiaras. This one is especially embarrassing because it goes against everything I stand for (feminism, letting children decide what they want to do, etc.). But it’s darn entertaining. And those little gals are flippin’ cute! Here’s a perfect example of why I can’t help but tune into this train wreck:
Thank you to beauty queen Alana for introducing me to the term “honey boo-boo child.”
4. Khloe & Lamar. Not really sure why, but Khloe is my favorite Kardashian. Maybe because she seems like the smartest? I don’t know. But her and Lamar seem really happy, and part of me is so happy that her marriage has outlasted Kim’s x100. I also secretly hope they have babies one day because they will be super cute…and tall.
5. Sister Wives. What can I say…It’s absolutely fascinating to get a peek inside a polygamist’s life. I have to admit, it has opened my mind for sure. I would never ever ever ever choose that life for myself, but I have a lot of respect that they are doing what they feel is best for them and their [giant] families.
6. Swamp People/Moonshiners. I’m grouping these two shows since I like them for the same reason…hillbillies are entertaining. ‘Nuff said. As my friend Rebecca said on my Facebook page, any show where people speak English but subtitles are needed, I will watch.
7. Locked-Up. Me liking this show (about prisoners and their life behind bars) blows my husband’s mind — he can’t seem to wrap his head around why I, a positive person, like it. Frankly, I don’t know either. I think I just like the psychology part of it all…It’s interesting getting a glimpse into a convicted killer’s mind.
What are your favorite trashy reality shows?

Wow. I watched the toddler & tiara clip. Did she really tell her daughter to shake her butt??
I think it’s fun to see people watch the train wrecks, but I can’t do it. I like to watch the shows like Made (that used to be on MTV though) to see if the kids succeed. I’ve seen Teen Mom a few times and it makes me sad. (especially the last one I saw where the guy was calling the mother of his child a fat B…)
My kids usually have to set up the tv for me though, because I barely use it! LOL

I have never seen a single one of those shows… not one. I will say that I know that they exist because I’ve seen commercials! I just don’t watch them.

I am so impressed. I’ve tried to shield my eyes…but I can’t! And I don’t even watch that much TV, so when I do, I kind of feel like it’s eating away at my brains. I need to stop.

I actually like Kendra, but don’t watch the show.
Teen Mom is great, I feel so bad for these kids (can’t imagine twins now, let alone at 16!) and like watching them learn. Well, most of them, anyway.
Sister Wives is something I’ll watch if I notice it’s on, but I don’t DVR it. It fascinates me — and even though I try to understand it, I just can’t. I can’t understand why it’s OK for him to have 4 wives but they can’t have multiple husbands. Not fair! 😉

I haven’t heard of most of these. We don’t have cable. They sound like a great way to escape a tough day.

Oh, girl, I’ve been waiting for this post for days 😉
I love all these, too. Sister Wives fascinates me, too, and Moonshiners is a MUST WATCH up in here. A guy named Tickle? Yes please!

My husband always makes fun of me because I watch the Locked up marathons on the weekends. I love that show.
