I have a confession…I’ve done the classic mom thing: I’ve forgotten about myself.
I haven’t bought any new clothes in months. I haven’t gotten a haircut in 6 months. I haven’t gotten my brows waxed in months (I do pluck though – no worries!). I haven’t had a pedicure or manicure in waaaaay more than a year. I haven’t wandered around a cool store on my own terms in months.
Not that I did these things a ton before baby, but I definitely had a little bit better control.
I work from home, so there’s no need to FULLY take care of my looks, or is there?
Yes, there’s a darn good reason: ME. I deserve a little treat once in a while. And my husband deserves to have a lady who dresses in more than just sweatpants and T-shirts and looks like she’s at least trying.
Little K is at grandma’s tonight, so I made a promise to myself for tomorrow: To make time for me. Get my haircut, get my brows waxed and maybe, if I’m feeling crazy, even wander around a store (probably Target) with a fancy coffee. Saturday afternoon I have a facial scheduled at FACE Skincare (more on that to come!). And maybe next week I’ll even buy a new fun shirt in honor of this beautiful spring weather we’ve been experiencing here in Michigan.
A little bit at a time, that’s how I plan to do it.
Ladies, how do you make time for yourself when life gets crazy?

Me time is so important! I finally got a manicure/ pedicure last weekend after many months of neglect, and I’m planning to get a haircut in a month or so.
More importantly, I think we need to take time everyday to let it just be about us – whether it’s an extra few minutes in the shower or in bed before we need to get up.

Good for you! I hope you enjoy every second of your “me time”!

You should, especially with a little one on the way! It’s going to get even crazier soon! I am in the same trap. I tried to go shopping the other day and I couldn’t even find anything because I need so much I didn’t even know where to start. I hope you enjoy your ME time! Not gonna lie, I’m jealous!

Tell me about it, with work and Three kids I’m lucky if I shower everyday 🙂 I am in need of new clothes, makeup, a pedi and much more! I am lucky cause my sister n law does hair so that’s always a easy do. I want a girls weekend away this summer just drinks, sun and relaxation 🙂
