I don’t write about products on here just for the heck of it. I only write about something when it’s something I truly love or know my readers {mostly women and moms} will enjoy.
This has been a VERY hot summer in Michigan. One that causes us pasty people to sweat and burn the moment we step outside. Add a bowling ball to your stomach in the form of a baby, and it’s downright unbearable for me to be outside unless I am near water or an air conditioned place.
There are many things that have helped me to survive the heat so far: Frozen blueberries, frozen grapes, Hudsonville ice cream, slurpees and my favorite summer purchase: My Tervis Tumbler, which I am constantly filling with ice and water.
It’s just a cup, right? WRONG! It’s amazing – especially for those of us who are pregnant and anyone who is on-the-go and enjoys drinking COLD water {or hot coffee or vodka or wine}, as much as me.
{FACTS: Pregnant women are supposed to consume massive amounts of water to avoid swelling and water retention. Kind of odd, I know, but I can vouch it’s legit. Water also helps avoid constipation, bladder infections and hemorrhoids and even preterm labor since dehydration can cause contractions. See here to learn more about the importance of water during pregnancy.}
After buying a few Tervis Tumblers as gifts, and then adopting the Central Michigan University one I purchased for my husband as a gift, I decided to get my own 24 oz. Tumbler {The hubby wasn’t happy I kept using his!} for my birthday. It was a big decision because they aren’t super cheap at stores (mine was $18 at Bed, Bath & Beyond with my 20% off coupon)…But it is SO worth every penny and then some.
Here’s why:
- They are made in the USA. Yay for ‘merica!
- They got their start technically in Detroit {woot!}, but now are based in Florida {that’s OK too}.
- They wash in the dishwasher beautifully {crucial} – unlike pretty much every other water bottle I’ve owned.
- They are foolproof. You can’t break, chip, melt or chip this thing.
- They are table ring proof. Unlike most normal cups, it doesn’t sweat and leave water rings on your wood tables.
- Beverages stay hot and cold for several hours. Sometimes I’ll leave mine in the car while I shop and it’s always still cold when I return. My husband uses his for golfing and the water still had ice through 9 holes in 95 degree heat.
- There’s a lifetime guarantee they will last.
- They have really fun designs — fit for sports lovers, girly girls and manly men.
The one I own.
My next one to purchase…How sweet is this hipster one?!
With all this said, wouldn’t it be fun to WIN one? I reached out to Tervis to let them know about my mad love for their product and asked if they’d be willing to partner with me for a giveaway. And they agreed! I am stoked because I really enjoy sharing great products with ya’ll.
One lucky mama will receive a 16 oz. Hallmark Mom’s Tumbler.
This would be a great gift for a mom you know, or of course, to keep for yourself. Just check out the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Giveaway ends 7/18/2012. Best of luck!
*Must be a U.S. resident to win.*

My grandparents always had these cups to make their cocktails in. I recently saw them at Bed Bath and Beyond and got one for my dad for his birthday. I loved the handles and the lids that you could accessorize them with. I have yet to purchase one for myself, but I’m sure it’s coming 🙂

I’m pretty sure if I had a Tervis, I’d drink more water…so, pretty much winning this will make me healthier. Ball is in your court, Weber 😉
To beat the heat here in OK Florida, I stay inside. A LOT. And wear skirts. And of course, make a b-line for any water I can find to swim in!
