Since having babies, I have had an addiction: All things dessert. My absolute favorite? Chocolate chip cookies! Thing is, I have tried TONS of recipes and they never quite live up to my standards. Since I feel like mastering cookies is a rite of passage into motherhood, let’s just say I’ve been busy trying different recipes for the past 2 years!
I like a really soft cookie, piled high with chocolate chips. There’s the perfect amount of salt, and they are baked until they have just a *touch* of golden brown around the edges. They break gently in your mouth, releasing the perfect amount of chocolate and cooked dough.
Ladies and gents, I think we finally have a winner! I have learned that coconut oil is the defining factor — it kind of gives the cookies a lift and makes them have the perfect, soft consistency.

Voila! Serve with a cold glass of milk.
These babies are NOT healthy. If you’re concerned you may eat the entire batch, simply throw them in the freezer to avoid over-indulgence 😉
What is your secret for making the perfect chocolate chip cookie?

MMm… I love chocolate chip cookies!
Okay… here are a couple things that you can do to make them super moist and soft. Add in a package of instant pudding and use cold butter! It takes a bit longer to beat the butter & sugar together but it’s worth it.

Ekk! I am so trying these. I am obsessed with chocolate chip cookies. My favorite recipe so far is the one that comes on the I Can’t Believe It’s not Butter box, but I always forget to save it. Those are super chewy, like these sound. My main issue with making cookies: I eat the dough!!

I feel so famous that I got a shout out on your blog! I have been playing with my recipe too — using coconut oil instead of crisco — way better for you! And, using raw sugar instead of granulated white sugar. Less processed seems healthier. Not that I am claiming the cookies are healthy:)

You’re the best! I am impressed with your commenting skills…and your cookies of course! Thanks for the recipe. I am having fun experimenting with it. I will be buying coconut oil soon too 🙂

Hey Lauren! This is awesome! I already tried your recipe of Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies a while ago and I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely include this in my menu for the 18th birthday of my niece. Thanks for the inspirations.
