Disclosure: This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own. People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
Everyone always says to me “I could never have just a smoothie as a meal replacement.” OK, I get it. It can feel like a challenge to drink a meal instead of eating it. But honestly, now that I’m used to it, it’s hard for me to EAT three meals a day. I love my Shaklee 180™ smoothies too much!
Since candy and chocolate used to be my pitfalls, I’ve learned to squash those cravings with just a bit of sweetness in my smoothies, which I honestly look forward to every day. I love having what feels like dessert for my breakfast or lunch and coming up with fun flavor combos. They don’t always come out perfect {once, I was distracted by the kids and totally forgot to add fruit and drank and entire smoothie full of spinach…yeah, blech}, but overall, they are delicious, quick and easy to eat standing up…because let’s face it: I NEVER get to sit down for a meal with two young kids!
Today I am sharing one of my favorite creations — an Almond Joy smoothie.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 ice cubes
- 2 scoops Shaklee 180™ chocolate smoothee mix {or your favorite chocolate protein powder}
- 1 cup of spinach {I just throw in a large handful}
- 5 raw almonds, chopped into very small pieces
- 1/8 tsp pure almond extract
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut {maybe a bit more if you love coconut like I do!}
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk {I have the regular kind pictured. It’s just 60 calories/serving}
Blend all ingredients in the blender.
= Approx. 321 calories

Yum! I’m always looking for different smoothies! I usually drink my breakfast too! Did you see the coupons for Silk? There is a target one too! My favorite is the unsweetened vanilla (the name drives me crazy…wouldn’t the vanilla make it sweetened?).
Mrs. Weber says
LOL! That’s a good point. I need to go grab the coupons…I’m always buying that stuff and it is not cheap!

I’ve made a similar one but used coconut extract in it. I never thought about adding in the cocoa powder…. it doesn’t make it bitter or anything?
Mrs. Weber says
No! Totally surprising, I know. I like the Shaklee chocolate powder OK, but with a little cocoa powder, it tastes MUCH more chocolatey to me!
Ashleigh says
Yeah! The half gallons are 98¢ at Target after the coupons…if you use ibotta, you can get $1 back too!

Congrats on the weight loss! Maybe you’ve covered this before, but as far as the Shaklee program goes, will you be on the shakes, bars etc. from now on or how does that work? I was just quick looking at the website but I thought maybe you could answer that question for me. Do you stay on it for a certain time and then maintain through food choices eventually? I’m in pretty much the same position as you….a toddler and baby to keep busy and wanting to get healthy again! I think it sounds great, but I guess I don’t know about shakes and bars forever… Thanks! 🙂
Mrs. Weber says
GREAT question! Essentially, it’s Shaklee 180 because you have 90 days to lose weight {tracking calories and using the Shaklee items}, and 90 days to learn how to maintain it. I met my goal weight (losing 15 pounds), so now I’m learning how to make healthier choices so I can keep it off. It seemed very intimidating at first, but once I learned portion control and how to enjoy my Shaklee foods, I was hooked. It’s SO easy as a mom of two! Essentially, I just drink one shake a day and try to keep my meals 500 cals or less and snack on healthy/low calorie foods. I honestly think the kids are CRUCIAL too…They keep me hopping!
If you have any other questions, I am happy to answer them 🙂 It really is a great program.
