For my Detroit-area readers, I’m really excited to let you all know that I will be on Local 4 tomorrow talking about one of my favorite subjects: Blogging!
My live segment will air on WDIV between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and will be featured on the brand new news/talk show Live in the D. I’ll be chatting with reporter Karen Drew {a fellow mommy to little ones — woot!}.
I’ve been on TV a few times for random things, but this is my first live interview. I *used* to be the one behind the camera coaching, now I have to remember all those tips myself. It definitely is nerve-wracking, but sometimes we just need to step out of our comfort zone, right?
A shout out to my boss and friend Emily Hay who recommended me for this opportunity and encouraged me to believe in myself and make it happen. And thanks to my hubby who will be taking care of the kiddos while I head into the D for a few hours.
See you in TV land!
BLOGGERS: If you have a great tip to share to those who may want to start a blog, please share in the comments!

Congrats! I will set my DVR to watch. My one tip is to write about what you love. My passion is help moms save money without tons of effort. I want to help people live a better life on a budget. When you have a passion for what you write about is easy to have come up with content. I was actually on Channel Four last week talking about Back to School savings and live on Fox 2. I am sure you will do great!

That is seriously the perfect tip! Passion is SO evident in many of the blogs I read.
And go you for being on TV! I think it’s incredibly nerve-wracking, but love that it’s pushing me to try new things. I love that about blogging…and that I have met incredible bloggers like you through it!

Tip, that someone told me, actually: even if you don’t think you will use it, sign up for all the social media/etc sites with your brand/blog name.
For example: I have yesnofilms.com and I’m also @yesnofilms. yesnofilms on Instagram, and yesnofilms on Pinterest.

For sure! I was on Twitter before I started this blog, so couldn’t do that, but I agree — for branding purposes, it’s an awesome idea.

Congrats! That is awesome! Can’t wait to tune in.
My tip is kind of along the same lines as Liz: make sure you use the same image along all social media platforms.
