I absolutely LOVE live music. Unfortunately, being on a budget and having young kids makes it nearly impossible to attend concerts on a regular basis. Instead of shelling out $100 for nosebleed seats, I love supporting our local music scene, and summer is the perfect time to do so. Additionally, outdoor concerts are kid-friendly {what kid doesn’t like to boogie to some tunes?} AND you can sneak in your own wine if you are stealthy. {Don’t tell anyone I told you to do that!}
I searched around and found some great FREE 2014 summer concerts around Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint, Lansing and the surrounding suburbs. Be sure to head out and support local music, and of course, support the local shops and restaurants while you’re there, too!
NOTE: Cities are in alphabetical order.

Great list. SO excited for Michelle Chamuel to come back to A2, we used to see her band My Dear Disco a lot and now she’s been on The Voice so is semi-famous. 🙂
Mrs. Weber says
OK, I am totally going to look her up!
Liz says
PS do you like that “flares” thing at side? Thinking of adding it to my site (but is it for WordPress only?).
Mrs. Weber says
YES! I love it. I go crazy when I can’t find share buttons on blog posts, so this is an awesome, obnoxious option 😉 – HA! Not sure if it’s only for WP though.
Liz says
lol. I use the “share this” option, that I put in a while back (I think Blogger has it as an easy add-on), but it’s at the bottom of the post.
Amber Louchart (Metro Detroit Mommy) says
Partridge Creek has free concerts every day throughout the summer.
Also lots of free concerts at the MetroParks through the summer!

GREAT call! Thanks for the tips, lady!

Very nice list! I’m especially partial to seeing SpaceCAT in Auburn Hills as my brother is the singer. 😉
As mentioned above, Partridge Creek’s concerts are great (SpaceCAT also plays there!) too. A full schedule is here:

Amanda Hernandez says
Thanks for the great list! Just went through these and put some on my calendar!
Mrs. Weber says
Woohoo! Happy to hear that — enjoy! And when that baby comes, outdoor concerts will be a great way to get out a bit and get fresh air 🙂
