I have a partnership with Olympia Entertainment and will be receiving complimentary tickets to the show in exchange for promoting. All opinions expressed are my own.
Based on the popular children’s books by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann, Pinkalicious The Musical will perform six shows at the City Theatre in Detroit from Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23.
If you’re not familiar with the books, they are adorable, and perfect for encouraging imagination. Whenever I read the stories to Kinley {4}, I picture her, except everything is blue — her favorite color! Pinkalicious is just relatable to any child in the 3-8 years of age range.
SYNOPSIS:
In Pinkalicious The Musical, Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe – a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.
The one hour musical, with book and lyrics by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann and music, lyrics and orchestrations by John Gregor, is based on the popular children’s book Pinkalicious by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann. The musical adaptation is directed by Teresa K. Pond with musical direction by Jad Bernardo and original direction by Suzu McConnell-Wood.

We are so excited for this show and to see one of our favorite book series’ brought to life on stage…and with music! The City Theatre is an awesome venue because it’s very small, so there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Now, we’re off to the library to rent all the books to read several times and get excited for the show 😀
