Halloween is one of the best holidays ever when you are a kid. You get to dress-up in costume {a daily occurrence for my girls}, attend lots of fun events {be sure to check out my list}, and have a fun excuse to eat candy. Let me tell you — this is every kid’s dream!

We recently had a Halloween and Monsters University-themed family party for Kinley’s 4th birthday with the help of Meijer. She hit the jackpot when she was born in October, because Halloween is so fitting for her personality: She loves to dress-up, play pretend, and of course, eat candy.

We had fun setting up for her party, which blended together Halloween’s theme colors black and orange, along with her favorite color — blue.

We played Pin the Smile on the Skeleton, and enjoyed decorating our home with fall items from Meijer.

Celebrate Halloween at Meijer by shopping for plenty of party decorations, indoor décor, animated accessories and costumes. We wanted to spice up our home with some Halloween-inspired touches before our guests arrived, so we picked up pumpkins, gourds, a spooky ghost sign and more.

The girls also were able to pick out a costume, and like most little girls this year, chose Anna and Elsa from Frozen. I was surprised to see the store stocked with plenty of these little dresses since this is sure to be the costume hit of the year.

We were able to nab a $5 off $25 in costumes mPerk. Always check your account before shopping, and make sure to enter in your number at checkout to get rewards. I have a $5 off reward for spending $30 in the Halloween Department, so you may have it as well! I imagine more deals for candy and such will be made available in the weeks ahead, too.

I had to get in on the fun…Don’t you love my scary hair from Meijer? It lights up too!

Make sure to shop early for the best costume selection. A whopping 70 percent of consumers shop the final week of October and miss out on sales and their favorite costume. Don’t let this be the case for your little goblin!
