My husband and I at The Color Run a few years back. Love having a partner in crime to keep me motivated!
The post below is sponsored by Meijer. All opinion expressed are my own.
Almost two years ago, I was privileged to be a part of the Shaklee 180 team of blogging women from across the country. Together, we lost weight, encouraged each other, and gave each other tips for working out and eating healthy.
Now that the partnership is over, and I’ve had my third child, I am finding it’s a bit of a struggle to find time to work out. Not because I don’t know how…It has just been a major challenge to find an hour to myself with three small children and a job where I work in the morning and at night.
I refuse to fall victim to excuses though.
I have slowly been trying a new routine of walking and running. I bought myself a Fitbit Flex for Christmas, and try to challenge myself to get 10,000 steps in at least three times per week. It isn’t always possible, especially during the holiday travel season, but I am trying. This works because I can do it while the baby naps, and just have the girls play in the basement while I am on the treadmill. It’s not ideal, but it’s what I need to do until the baby isn’t as needy.
Even when I walk, I tend to work up a sweat, so I am thankful for the new Dry Sprays from Axe, Dove and Degree, found in the deodorant aisle at Meijer.
These new 48-hour antiperspirant sprays are unlike anything available and go on instantly dry for a cleaner feel. Unlike with ordinary sticks or gels, dry sprays leave no visible residue on skin or clothing. My preference has been for the Dove one, and my husband likes the Axe one {and so do I…It smells SO good}.
Spraying it on is super cold, so it has taken some getting used to, but I love the scent and that my pits aren’t getting bunched up with white gunk when I workout 😉
Staying fresh and dry and getting my steps in has been my first step to my continued healthy journey. Once the holidays are over, my husband and I are hoping to get back to eating better {let’s face it: I haven’t met a Christmas cookie I don’t like}, incorporating more fruits and veggies into our diets, and signing up for a few races to stay motivated.
I love this quote!
It’s not as much about losing weight as it is about just being aware of how we treat our bodies and setting an example for our children. With that said, I do have my goal jeans I would love to be in again by next summer.
Cheers to healthy beginnings in 2015!
P.S. Make sure to check your mPerks for a $1 off 1 Dove Dry Spray!
Do you have health goals for the new year? Please share them with me for some motivation 😉

Great goals. I’m up quite a bit from where I was last year, weight-wise, so (same as you after the holidays – loooove holiday food) I am going to try to lose a bit in 2015.

I seriously adored the Shaklee blogger program! I want to find another one…It was so great for feeling accountable! If I spot any good ones, I’ll let you know 😉

I was doing 10,000 steps 7 days a week, now I’m lucky to get 4 days in. I need to go back to the weights.
Mrs. Weber says
That is my goal for next year {weights}! Every little bit helps, right?! So tough this time of year, too.

As a single mom this is something I really struggle with. I have my fitbit flex so I try to make hitting my step goals which I’ve set just a bit lower to make them reachable. I want to model healthy behavior to my 4 yr old as he grows up so he knows about healthy choices.
Mrs. Weber says
Thanks so much for chiming in, Sarah! It’s hard having all this pressure on us, huh? You sound like you’re being a fab example for your little guy 🙂

I definitely agree that it helps to have a partner in crime to keep you motivated! When my husband and I are able to go to the gym together – it makes the time fly by and is more enjoyable than going on our own! I can’t wait to check out the new Dove dry spray!

I want to hear more about how you’ve been losing weight! It seems like you have kicked butt this past year and you look amazing!

I tend to use roll on stick but may try out that Dove Men Care version you pictured

I had to laugh at your comment about never meeting a Christmas cookie you don’t like – me too!
I love that they leave no film. I’m a gel user and it’s getting harder to find the gel, I’m really not interested in the invisible solid. Maybe I’ll try the dry as a fallback.
Mrs. Weber says
Mmm…Cookies. I definitely don’t want to give those up ever!

Great goals. I actually tried out these sprays and OMG I love them! I love that they actually work well and don’t leave that smushy feel like other deodorant sprays!
