I confess: Miles turned 6 months old on February 7th, so I’m a little behind. Cut me some slack…I’m a little busy raising 3 little humans 😉
Dear Miles,
You are six months old — YAY! I am very torn about this milestone since you are my last baby. I am cherishing every single day because I know you will grow-up overnight soon. I absolutely LOVE this age. Shoot, I think I just love babies because every new stage makes me happy. But you make it especially enjoyable with your infectious smile and very obvious love for me.
So about you…sMiles is proving to be the perfect nickname because you seriously smile constantly, unless your diaper is wet {you hate that}, you need to eat for the umpteenth time in a day, or you can’t see me. You are a mama’s boy, but really, you love attention from just about anyone. Doesn’t matter if it’s me or a crazy old person at the grocery store — you are usually willing to perform with smiles on the spot.
We’ve started introducing solids, but are taking it slow. You are curious about my food, but still are nursing quite frequently, so we’re just sort of following a baby led approach. Speaking of nursing, you are my second child to refuse taking a bottle. Makes going out a tad complicated, but instead of stressing this time around, I’m just reminding myself this isn’t going to last forever.
As far as other milestones go, you roll from belly to back and are sitting up for short periods of time. No teeth in sight, despite constant drooling and mouthing everything. I love to call you “grabby mcgee” because you grab everything you can get your little hands on. Your favorite is my straw when I drink water. You are starting to hold a sippy cup and have loved having your own water, even if most of it ends up on you.
Your daddy and I chuckle because you adore your sisters…You want to be everywhere they are! You seem to be slightly grumpy in the morning at times, but the second one of them gets up, you are happy. They love showering you with attention, and Karina loves to say “My Miles!” to anyone that wants to touch you. Kinley asks you not to grow-up just about every day, and loves hugging, kissing and even sniffing you. She says you smell like flowers and sugar!
We’re so curious to see who you are going to look like in a few years. You have adorable dimples on both cheeks, but we can’t always see them due to their size. So far, most votes have you looking like my nephews and dad. You definitely have some Greek genes in you, but have seriously sparkly blue eyes. What are the chances this brown-eyed mama would have 3 kids with blue eyes? I love it!
Keep up those amazing toothless sMiles, little man. I am so proud to have you as my son and look forward to seeing how much you continue to grow leading up to your first birthday! Thanks for reminding me each day that babies are such a blessing.
Love times infinity,
Mama
