It’s getting to be that season…Baby animals are being born and it has me thinking about all the amazing farm events on the horizon. Three things I love: Michigan, agriculture and FREE family fun.
It’s my belief that each and every child deserves the opportunity to visit a farm and see where their food comes from. That’s why I love the Breakfast on the Farm events {a Michigan State University Extension Program}. These FREE events take place every year across the state.
Breakfast on the Farm 2015 events include:
July 11: Mason County Breakfast on the Farm hosted by Stakenas Farms, Free Soil, Mich.
July 25: Sanilac County Breakfast on the Farm hosted by Roto-Z Dairy Farm, Snover, Mich.
August 8: Van Buren County Breakfast on the Farm hosted by Hood Farms Family Dairy, Paw Paw, Mich.
August 15: Gratiot County Breakfast on the Farm hosted by Wheeler Dairy, Breckenridge, Mich.
August 29: Hillsdale County Breakfast on the Farm hosted by Pleasant View Dairy, Jonesville, Mich.
{Not affiliated with this program, but another event I love is Family Fun at the Farm, which will be in Ionia on June 6. Learn more here.}
Milking a pretend cow at BOTF in Machester last year
All of the events run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with breakfast ending at noon. Tickets are FREE and required for the breakfast. Locations where you can pick up your tickets will be posted on the website approximately one month before the event. Mark your calendar now because these events do sell out.
Learn more about what you can expect to see {and taste!} at these events at this post from my archives.
