I have a partnership with Olympia Entertainment and will be receiving complimentary tickets to the show in exchange for promoting. All opinions expressed are my own.
One of the things I love most about being a mom is reading children’s books. I absolutely LOVE them, and I’m pretty sure I enjoy our trips to the library as much as my girls. There are so many great books for kids out there!
I have many favorite book series, but one I really adore is Fancy Nancy. There are a few things I love about them — incredible illustrations, lots of imagination, and simple explanations for ‘fancy’ words. They are perfect for my gals, ages 3 and 5.
We are stoked Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas is coming to City Theatre in Detroit on November 20-22!
ABOUT THE SHOW
What could be fancier than Christmas? Presents with elegant wrapping paper, festive decorations, Christmas cookies with sprinkles – and who could forget the tree? After all, there is no such thing as too much tinsel. Ooh la la! This year, Nancy is especially excited. She bought a brand-new sparkly tree topper with her own money and can’t wait to decorate the Christmas tree. But when things don’t turn out the way Nancy planned, will Christmas still be splendiferous?
Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas is based on the New York Times bestselling picture book by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, with book by Cara Lustik, lyrics by Matthew Hardy, music by Randy Klein, and directed and choreographed by Sam Viverito. The production was commissioned and originally produced by Vital Theatre Company.
Here’s a little sneak peek from YouTube. Oh, this looks cute! 😀

TIPS FOR VISITING CITY THEATRE
The City Theatre in Detroit is one of my favorite venues to take little ones to because parking is easy and close {bring cash! It was $15 last time I was there}, and the theater is small, which makes for a less intimidating experience for a child. Seating is not assigned, so arrive early to get the best seats. The theatre is right inside Hockeytown Cafe, so I suggest grabbing a bite to eat there before or after {it’s super kid-friendly}.
So excited for this show and to see one of our favorite book series’ brought to life on stage. Until then, we’re off to the library to rent all the books to read several times and get excited for the show!

I have a four-pack of tickets to giveaway to one lucky winner for the Saturday, November 20th show at 2 p.m. Must be 18 years or older and willing to drive to Detroit, Michigan for the show.
