Some of you may have seen a familiar face on Local 4 News or ClickOnDetroit.com the past few days…ME! It’s always awkward to me to see my face on TV, but this story has a special place in my heart, and can serve as a great reminder to not overspend on our kids this holiday season.
Here I am chatting about the 4 Gift Rule {something I did not make up, for the record}:
www.clickondetroit.com/consumer/help-me-hank/the-4-gift-rule-teaching-life-lessons
I will confess this rule is easy to follow since my kids are young and everything they want is around $10-$20. I’m scared for what the teen years will bring 😉 I’ve surprised myself by keeping on budget this year and have just one small thing left to get my middle daughter. But man! There are so many cool toys and great deals out there, I completely understand it’s hard to resist temptation.
Hope you all are staying on budget and remembering it’s about the memories made during the season, not the stuff under the tree.
Big shout out to my boss, Emily Hay, at Hay There Social Media who helped put together a variety of holiday shopping segments for local bloggers, and to Local 4 producer Tony who is so great at his job. Thanks, Local 4, for including me!
