I was invited to a media event at Impression 5. All opinions expressed belong to me.
There are many places I love to take my kids, and Impression 5 in Lansing, Michigan is definitely up there in my top five destinations for families around southeast Michigan. It’s SO fun, affordable, and well worth a day trip.
Impression 5 recently opened a new exhibit — Hot Wheels™: Race to Win™, and it’s the perfect opportunity to pack up any of your vehicle–loving kids and plan a visit.
The exhibit was originally built for The Indianapolis Children’s Museum and it’s on loan to Impression 5 from now until January 6, 2017.
The exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes look at the thrill of racing, and investigates the science behind super fast cars.
The entire area is extremely interactive, allowing kids {and adults} the chance to try on authentic race gear, race Hot Wheels, and learn more about the racing industry.
My 2 and 4-year-olds LOVED exploring and giggled away while running around and playing. Their favorite part was definitely racing cars down the various ramps inside and seeing how fast they could go.
After checking out the Hot Wheels area, we headed upstairs for more fun. There are so many unique areas to explore here, and as a mom, I love the set-up! I can tell that I5 is always looking for ways to improve and cater to all ages, which I appreciate. There truly is something new to see each time we visit.
If you have little ones, there is a fabulous area just for the age 4 and under crowd. My littles LOVE the water area and we spent a lot of time there on our visit.
My kids love being able to touch everything and truly use each of their five senses. My toddler had a blast in the bubble area, especially. It’s adorable witnessing his little brain in action trying to figure things out.
One of our family’s favorite areas highlights light and has various exhibits showing different ways light can be used. My Karina was intrigued with the plasma globe. She kept asking “why doesn’t it hurt?” Ha!
And I can’t ever resist sharing a special message or picture in the light mosaic.
Overall, Impression 5 is an amazing destination for ALL ages, and the Hot Wheels exhibit is the perfect reason to go again if it has been awhile for your family. Definitely plan a visit!

NEARBY SPOTS TO EAT
There is a lunch area at the museum if you’d like to pack a picnic to enjoy there. Additionally, a little bird told me a cafe will be coming to the premises in the future 🙂
If you’d like to explore Lansing for some grub, a few of my favorite spots within a few miles of Impression 5 include Soup Spoon Café, Weston’s Kewpee Burger {amazing olive burgers} and the Lansing Brewing Company {during the day it’s kid-friendly – no worries}.
