Halloween ROCKS, right?! My family loves this time of year…Pumpkins, haunted houses, and of course, the excuse to dress up! Here’s a peek of Halloween happenings around SE Michigan.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY
Weekends, September 30 – October: Howell Historical Ghost Tours

- Cost: $25/person — cash only at the time of your tour.
- Description: Join Psychic Medium, Dianna O’Grady on a stroll through the 150 year old streets of Downtown Howell, where the the past and present come alive! Hear accounts of ghostly apparitions, shadow figures, and orbs, as experienced by local business owners, local residents and paranormal investigators. An RSVP is required.
October 1: Pumpkin Playtime at Howell Nature Center

- Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Cost: $7/person.
- Description: Visit the Nature Center to enrich the lives of selected residents of Livingston County’s only zoo, Wild Wonders Wildlife Park, by creating activities that encourage natural behaviors in capitve wildlife. You’ll build an enrichment activity with materials provided by the Nature Center, then watch as the lucky recipients — foxes, coyotes, mink, bobcat and porcupine— exhibit such natural behaviors as foraging, exploration, locomotion, and social interaction. Age 5 & up, children 17 & under must be accompanied by a paid adult. Pre-registration required.
October 22: Legend of Sleepy Howell

- Description: Visit downtown Howell for the 14th Annual Legend of Sleepy Howell and don’t miss out on the trick-or-treating, costume contest, live entertainment, hay maze, free showing of Maleficent, and more.
October 23: Halloween Spooktacular at Bounce
Hartland Sports Center – 2755 Arena Dr., Hartland | 810-632-7222
- Time: 1:30-3:30 p.m.
- Cost: $12 Members, $15 Non Members, parents are free.
- Description: Visit Bounce for a haunted open gym, prizes, spooky tunnel, hair spray painting, mazes, games, raffles, donuts and more. All ages.
October 28: Pinckney Halloween Spooktacular
Downtown Pinckney
- Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Cost: FREE
- Description: The Pinckney Halloween Spooktacular is sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority and several local businesses. Activities include trunk-or-treat, a spooky forest, refreshments, music, games, and a costume contest. The Spooktacular will be held in and around the Square in downtown.
October 28: Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Howell Opera House
Howell Opera House – 123 W. Grand River, Howell | 517-540-0065
- Time: 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. showings
- Cost: $12-$20; depending on show time
- Description: The 70’s cult film returns to the Howell Opera House! Doors open at 6 p.m. for cash bar and socializing. Admission for the 8 p.m. show is $20 per person and includes 1 drink ticket and a participation bag. The admission at 11:30 p.m. is $12 for the movie and participation bag. This movie is rated R – under 17 requires accompanying parent or guardian. Dressing up as a favorite character is encouraged for the costume contest but not required.
October 29: Howl-a-ween at Howell Nature Center

- Description: Come celebrate with the Wild Wonders Wildlife for a spooky night of fun! Trick-or-Treat the Wildlife Park {candy provided}, come dressed to impress for our critter costume contest and enjoy a Free Live Creepy Critter Display! Crafts, hayrides, and refreshments all included.
October 29: Boo Fest at Green Oak Village Place

- Description: Visit Green Oak Village Place fortrick-or-treating, a kid’s zone, and a pet costume contest sponsored by SELCRA.
October 29: Halloween Haunted Maze and Open Gym

- Description: Visit the aquatic center for a Monster Splashin’ good time! Come dressed in your costume for the pre-pool bash! Take a stroll through our cupcake graveyard, visit the fortune teller, walk inside our kid-friendly haunted “sunken” ship, make a craft to take home, or win one of the many prizes! Then, hop in the pool for a spooky themed swim with games and even more prizes!
October 31: Tridge-or-Treat in Downtown Brighton

- Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Cost: FREE
- Description: Join SELCRA, the Downtown Development Authority and the Brighton Fire Department for the 3rd Annual Tridge-or-Treat Halloween Spooktacular at the Millpond. Kids will follow a fun-filled decorated route along the tridge and past the spooky cemetery to collect candy from their favorite characters. Candy bags provided. After, visit the Brighton Fire Department for their annual costume party.
INGHAM COUNTY
October 1, 2, 8 & 9: Northfolk Outback Fall at the Farm

- Cost: Ranges from $3-$5/child. Adults are free with children.
- Description: Visit Northfolk Outback during the first two weekends of October for a pumpkin patch, wagon ride, horse rides, petting zoo, train, donuts and cider and more.
October 15-16, 22-23: Boo at the Zoo at Potter Park Zoo

- Description: Little ghouls and boys will enjoy an afternoon of spooktacular fun the zoo. There will be tons of activities for everyone to enjoy, including a straw maze, candy stations and free fun. Come dressed in Halloween costumes.
October 15-16: How-To Halloween

- Description: This event celebrates the holiday’s DIY ethic featuring huge displays, great music and everything you want to know about making your own ghoulish props, decorations, make-up and baked goods. So break out your best homemade costumes, bring your friends and be a part of the creative celebration.
October 27: Great Pumpkin Walk
Downtown East Lansing | 517-319-6931
- Time: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Cost: FREE
- Description: The City of East Lansing hosts the Great Pumpkin Walk each year on the streets of downtown. Families are encouraged to bring their children to downtown in full costume to receive free door-to-door treats from more than 50 downtown merchants. Parking is available in all downtown parking ramps and surface lots.
GENESEE COUNTY
October 1-31: Halloween Ghosts & Goodies at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad

- Weekends, Oct. 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30: Noon – 9 p.m.

- Description: Visit for silly Halloween fun when the Village is filled with friendly witches, happy ghosts and some of your favorite spooky friends. Find your way through an amusing straw maze and an enchanted forest where trees have eyes. Watch an old-fashioned magic show and take a 40-minute ride on the famous Huckleberry Ghost Train Express! There are trick-or-treat stations throughout the Village with doughnuts and candy for everyone.
October 29: For-Mar Enchanted Forest

- Description: Enjoy our pumpkin lit trails during the 2nd Annual Enchanted Forest event at For-Mar. You’ll meet different critters of the night and get goodies along the way as you walk the trails. This family friendly event is great for all ages. For all ages and abilities.
October 31: An Event So Good It’s Scary

- Description: Super heroes, vampires, fairy princesses and other little ghouls and goblins are invited to stroll from store to store collecting candy from over 40 merchants.
