2017 Southeast Michigan Mother's Day

As a mom, Mother’s Day is seriously one of my favorite days of the year. It’s the chance to get spoiled with adorable handmade presents {my favorite!} and an excuse not to cook {my other favorite!}. I also love getting the chance to spoil my own mom and mother-in-law, who both do so much to keep our family running smoothly.

If you’re looking for some ideas on things to do with your mom or the special ladies in your life, here are some ideas from workouts to brunches across Southeast Michigan from some fellow local bloggers:

May 5: Mother’s Day Italian Luncheon for Seniors

Bennett Recreation Center, 925 W. Grand River Ave., Howell

  • Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Members: Senior Center Members are free; Non-Members: $3
  • Description: Seniors can visit the recreation center for an Italian meal made by the students of Kensington Woods schools! To register, call 517-546-0693.

May 8: Mother’s Day Craft with Howell Parks & Recreation

Oceola Community Center, 1661 N. Latson Rd., Howell

  • Time: 6-7 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 Resident / $25 Howell Twp. / $30 Non-Resident
  • Description: Whether your child needs to make their Mother’s Day gift or you want to spend time with one another, this class is the one for you! During the hour, visitors will be crafting a special card made with love and craft with the parents help.

May 11: The Mommologues: Tales from the Front

123 W. Grand River Ave., Howell

  • Time: 7-9 p.m.
  • Cost: $15 in advance; $20 at the door
  • Description: Visit the Howell Opera House for an evening of readings and storytelling by local authors and personalities in celebration of motherhood. All proceeds benefit LACASA.

May 12: Mother’s Day Mash Up at Legacy Center Fitness

9299 Goble Dr., Brighton

  • Time: 6-8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $25/person {childcare and a rose included}
  • Description: The Mother’s Day Mash Up is your opportunity to enjoy the full Legacy Fitness group class experience. Participants will enjoy spinning, bootcamp, circuit training and a yoga session during their 90 minute mash up. After, relax with refreshments and shop a Trunk Show provided by ivivva & lululemon.

May 12: Mother’s Day Special at Iron Grip Ninja & Obstacle Training

1420 Lawson Dr., Howell

  • Time: 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $30 for a Mom and one child. Each additional child is $15.
  • Description: Moms {the real ninjas!} are invited to play at the gym. Pre-registration required and can be done online or over the phone. 517-618-7890

May 14: Farm-to-Table Mother’s Day Brunch at Stone Coop Farm

9615 Musch Rd., Brighton

  • Time: 1-3 p.m.
  • Cost: $50/person
  • Description: Visit Stone Coop Farm for a Farm to Table Mothers day brunch with fresh produce and local meats. A tentative 4-5 course menu will be published one week before the meal. Seating is limited, so reserve seats early.

May 14: Mother’s Day Brunch at Burrough’s Roadhouse

5311 Brighton Rd., Brighton

  • Seating times at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.am., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Adults: $23.99, Seniors: $19.99, Kids, ages 7-14: $14.99, Kids 6 and under free.

May 14: Mother’s Day Jump at Sky Zone

  • Description: Visit Sky Zone in Brighton for a fun day together!

May 14: Mother’s Day Brunch at Zukey Lake Tavern

  • Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Cost: $19.95/adult; $9.95/kids 11 and under
  • Description: Visit Zukey Lake for a delicious Mother’s Day buffett, including carved beef, omelet and dessert stations, biscuits and gravy and more. No reservations needed; patrons will be taken on a first come first serve basis.

May 14: Mother’s Day at MOD Pizza

8605 W. Grand River Avenue, Brighton {and all metro Detroit locations!}

  • Time: 10:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Cost: A MOD-sized pizza is between $7-$8
  • Description: Moms who bring their kids to any of the eight metro Detroit MOD Pizza locations will get a free MOD-sized pizza with the purchase of a MOD sized pizza. Yum!
