Who else here loves bats? Ya’ll know they eat mosquitos right? That’s my favorite reason for loving these often misunderstood creatures!
On September 23, live bats from the Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) will travel to the Michigan Science Center in Detroit for a day of family-fun, learning, and excitement.
Guests will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with bats, see bats native to Michigan, participate in a bat house building and learn all about the importance of bats as insect-eaters, and protectors of agriculture and forests. Trained educators from the OBC will conduct live animal programs, every hour, to educate and inspire festivalgoers.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at The Michigan Science Center, 5020 John R Street, Detroit, Michigan 48202.
Additionally – on Thursday, September 21st – be sure to head to MiSci’s After Dark: Life Nocturnal for a Live Bat Program presented by OBC’s Executive Director, Rob Mies. Tickets can be purchased here.
