If it’s your dream or your child’s dream to be on the popular TV show America Ninja Warrior, I have the spot for you to learn: Iron Grip Ninja & Obstacle Training in Howell, Michigan.
I’d been hearing rave reviews for this spot since it opened last year, and I finally made sure we visited when the kids had a day off.
First of all, what an awesome concept! I had such a smile walking through. I absolutely was thinking THIS is exactly what kids need more of. Less screen time and more activity in a fun and engaging way.
I mean, doesn’t this just scream PLAY?!
About Iron Grip Ninja & Obstacle Training in Howell
The 5,000+ sq. ft. facility includes many of the obstacles featured on the popular television show. The entire floor area is covered in a rubber matting material and has extra gymnastics padding throughout to prevent injuries.
The main area is designed so ninjas can flow from one obstacle to another. It is also modifiable for all ages and levels. Some obstacles in the main area include a 10 ft. warped wall, 12 ft. warped wall, 14.5 ft. warped wall, many unique balance obstacles, a variety of swinging holds suspended from the ceiling, twin-peak devil steps, dual salmon ladder, quintuple steps, pipe sliders, tilting ladders, and more.
There definitely are enough obstacles to keep both kids and adults challenged. When we visited, there was legit Spider-Man action going on! It was fun seeing how each of the stations can be used to develop strength.
The facility also has a dedicated safety, cleaning, and maintenance schedule, which is performed regularly.
For the younger kids {ages 4+}, there is a smaller area with a 5-ft. warped wall. I swear my 5-year-old went up it about 100 times. Her excitement was priceless every time!
My kiddos also loved swinging from the rope, balancing on beams, checking out the spider monkey wall and more.
The level of pride they had for each task they accomplished was fun to watch as a parent.
When I asked my crew what they thought of the place they immediately said “When can we go again?!”
I definitely am considering signing them up for a future ninja class so they can learn more skills.

That looks so fun! Wish there was one closer to us for regular classes, but we could definitely check this one out while visiting my parents in the summer 😉
