I am working with Broadway in Detroit to promote this show. All opinions expressed belong to me.
Each year I make a bucket list of shows I’d like to attend. Many of you know I am all about experience gifts for kids, but you may not know I’m all about them for adults, too! I’ve been waiting for The Book of Mormon to come back so I could bring my mom who is dying to see this show. I’ve heard nothing but good things and can’t wait to see it as an early Christmas gift.
ABOUT THE SHOW
The Book of Mormon which has played multiple sold-out engagements, returns to Detroit’s Fisher Theatre, December 4-9. 2018.
This show follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get. Described by Jon Stewart of The Daily Show as “a crowning achievement, so good it makes me angry” and by Entertainment Weekly as “the funniest musical of all time,” see it now.
The Book of Mormon features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of “South Park.” Tony Award-winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, Avenue Q. The musical is choreographed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone) and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker.
So you know this show is going to be FUNNY…and slightly inappropriate — adults only for sure so make it a date night or girls night out 😉
The Book of Mormon is the winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, Best Direction and WAY more. Point: It’s going to be GOOD.
