If you find yourself humming this tune often, I have the event for you! Day Out With Thomas at Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad will be returning to Flint, Michigan this August 16-18 and 23-25, 2019.
No matter if your child is a diehard Thomas fan or not, this event is one of my favorites for local families. It’s well executed and has a lot of bang for your buck if you spend a few hours exploring the numerous fun activities and gorgeous grounds of Crossroads Village.
{See my post highlighting 10 things to see at this historic gem here.}
Ticket Info
Day Out With Thomas™: The Steam Tour 2019 ticket prices are $22 for adults and children ages 2 and up, and include a 40-minute ride on the historic narrow-gauge train pulled by Thomas himself. Parking is free.
Activities include storytelling, live music, inflatables, temporary tattoos, a straw maze, videos, a Bob the Builder show and meet and greet and more — all included in the ticket price.
TIP: Our family prefers to ride the train last since it’s the perfect opportunity to relax after walking around the village. The gates open at 9 a.m., so get there early!
DOWT tickets do sell out, so I recommend purchasing tickets in advance HERE. Events happen rain or shine.
Other Activities at Crossroads Village
Thomas admission also includes the historic fun Crossroads Village offers. Guests are invited to pack a picnic or enjoy food at one of the three dining options in the Village, ride the carousel, miniature train, Venitian swings and more {prices are $1.25 each ride or 4 rides for $4}. We love to get a popcorn near the carousel for a special treat!
And don’t forget to visit the farm on the premises too! There’s so much to see, and the grounds are gorgeous.
The entire property is wagon/stroller-friendly, so bring whatever will keep the kids happy. There is stroller parking near the train for the actual ride and nursing stations throughout the property as well. It’s a very well thought out event for parents of little ones.
Overall, this is a can’t miss-event for young children and one local families need to do at least once. I promise you won’t be disappointed if you plan a visit. Have fun!
