As a parent, back-to-school time means a rush of commotion to gather pencils, backpacks, lunch supplies and more. It’s a busy time of year for all of us, but there’s one group it’s especially crazy for: Teachers!
Not only are teachers potentially preparing their own children for changes in the fall, but they are preparing their curriculum, setting up their classroom, refining class lists and preparing to take on a whole new class full of personalities they may or may not already know.
If you ask me, there’s no tougher job in fall, and our teachers are truly the backbone of society. I have so much respect and admiration for those helping to lead the next generation!

I’m excited to partner with Green Oak Village Place in Brighton, Michigan to highlight some fun fall fashion trends with back-to-teaching in mind, and also host a giveaway JUST for teachers since we all know they deserve it!
I recently visited Green Oak Village Place and trend spotted at three great stores for fall trends teachers may like — JCPenney, LOFT, and Jos. A. Bank.
Not being a teacher myself, I focused on items I think they would like, with comfort being a major factor. OK, and easy pull-on pants, because let’s be real — bathroom breaks are limited 😉
STOP 1: JCPENNEY
My first stop was JCPenney. This store has obviously been around for a long time for a good reason — the prices are amazing, and there really is a great selection for everyone.

For teachers in the younger grades, I imagine having sportier/dress clothing would be most ideal for moving around the classroom easily. JCP’s had a great selection of comfortable yet dressy options, and even tennis shoes that could easily be dressed up {lacy Nike’s — yes, please!}.

I loved that most of the women’s clothing had pockets too, which would be ideal for keeping a pen or a pencil handy while checking a students’ work. JCP also has an amazing make-up area, with many affordable options in the Sephora Collection.
For men, there is a fantastic selection of shoes, shirts, ties, khakis, and polo shirts for a great price.
STOP 2: LOFT
This store truly is a work of art! I love how everything is organized in such a neat manner, and all the pieces are color coordinated and easy to match — even with patterns! They truly make it easy for those who aren’t fashion-minded.

The colors I spotted in here most were black and white, chartreuse, and lavender. There were SO many cute looks and the fabrics were all so soft and comfortable feeling. My favorites were the wide legged dress pants and the soft colorful pants that could easily be matched with a solid shirt.
This store also has a stellar selection of accessories to match. It truly can be a one-stop shop!

HOT TIP: Did you know LOFT offers teachers 15% off all full priced items year round? Just show your badge for a special card! Additionally, through September 2, teachers can combine the teacher discount with special promotions for even better back-to-school deals. Score!
STOP 3: JOS. A. BANK
Jos. A. Bank is an amazing store for the male teachers out there. Even if a custom suit isn’t your thing, there is a great selection of polo shirts, ties, shoes and best of all, FUN SOCKS. Seriously — there was some amazing patterns from scooters, to dogs, to hot air balloons! I definitely could see some teachers rockin’ those!

Jos. A. Bank also carries these amazingly soft dress pants with an adjustable waist that are also wrinkle resistant, and water/stain repellent.
The store also had the most beautiful tie display I’ve seen with every pattern and color imaginable, even whimsical and unique ones. My favorite was one with mustaches all over.

For teachers in upper grades especially, I can imagine at least one good suit is needed for conferences and important events. Jos. A. Bank is known for its custom-made clothing. Such a great way to get a fantastic and professional looking suit!
Overall, I barely scratched the surface when it comes to fun trends for back-to-teaching, and I’d love to hear what you look for when it comes to fashion!

Great review of Green Oak Mall! I love The Loft. That is one of my go to place for work clothes. Typically, I love stylish cotton shirts with cardigans. I also like to pair it with a stylish necklace.

Thank you for the chance to win! Your area of the country looks so pretty, even the leaf on the mall sign. It’s VERY hot here in Florida and I’m dreaming a real fall like you must have there.
Im only a substitute teacher but this year we’ve had a lot of the kids change their style of clothing to a more adult look and actually looking professional. I really like this as ive seen others follow and it seems to make the attitudes so much better
I can’t believe it’s already time for back to school! So nice that you are doing this for teachers.
