On this day, guests can enjoy complimentary admission to more than 220+ exhibits from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and environmental stewardship. General admission tickets are free with pre-registration.
Available time slots include 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The community is welcome to experience “Conserve This Colorful Planet”, which aims to inspire guests to learn about water conservation in a colorful and engaging way. Through additional partnership with Ducks Unlimited and Six Rivers Conservancy, guests will be thrilled with a colorful exhibit experience, fun activities and education including access to 220+ hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, a Smithsonian Spark!Lab, Kids Town, STEM Playground and more.
There is tons to discover, and even a cute cafe on the premises. Learn 10 reasons we love MiSci at this post!
The Michigan Science Center is located at 5020 John R St., Detroit, MI.
Public parking is available in the DIA lot on John R just north of our building for $7, or you can look for street parking and use the Park Detroit app {super affordable that way}.
Some of our favorite family-friendly spots to eat around Detroit include Buddy’s Pizza {now downtown!}, Jolly Pumpkin, Punch Bowl Social {make sure to check out The Belt — an alley full of murals behind the building}, Bobcat Bonnies, and Mercury Burger Bar.
If you’re looking for more FREE things to do this winter around Southeast Michigan, make sure to check out this list — it’s always changing, so check back often!
Have so much fun if you visit!
