November is the kick off to Michigan’s long winter, which isn’t so fun, BUT there are lots of fun activities — virtual and otherwise — to keep us all warm!
I don’t know about you all, but it’s about to be a whole lotta Christmas music from now on in my minivan…We sure could use the extra happiness this year 😉
While SO many events have been taken online, there’s still no shortage of fun. Let’s try to reflect on the things we are thankful for this year — our health being number one.

November 1 — Daylight Saving begins! How will you spend your extra hour?
November 2 — Learn about Dia de los Muertos {Day of the Dead} and check out these activities and videos kids can learn from.

November 12 — Kids can visit the grounds of Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe for FREE through Nov. 30, plus they can claim a free educational activity kit at the gate. Adults are just $5.
November 13 — Today is World Kindness Day. We need kindness more than anything right now! Check out these ideas for inexpensive acts of kindness.
November 14 — Book a time to visit the animals and explore the grounds of the Howell Nature Center {must register in advance}.
November 15 — Clean out your bookshelves and visit a Little Free Library. Donate some books, and pick up some new ones too!
November 16 — Have a day or evening full of board games, or learn a new one together.
November 17 — Visit Michaels online at 4 p.m. CST {5 p.m. for Michigan} and learn how to make a Pearlier bead thankful turkey.
November 18 — Wild Lights is opens Nov. 20 at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak and runs through January 3. Make sure to grab tickets in advance to reserve a spot.
November 19 — Check out Kids Art Hub for Thanksgiving art projects and get some new art for your fridge!
November 20 — Watch Lansing’s Silver Bells in the City live from your own home. This special telecast will feature elements of the traditional event like the state Christmas tree lighting, family holiday singalongs, and more.

November 26 — Happy Thanksgiving! To prevent further spread of Covid, please keep your parties small and with folks you trust! You can also watch the traditional Detroit Thanksgiving parade on TV only.

November 28 — Tis the season for holiday lights! Pack up the kids and head out for a drive to admire them. Or drive through downtown Rochester to admire The Big, Bright Light Show. {This is also Small Business Saturday, so consider supporting a small business!}
