From a book describing the human experience of emotions to a Michigan-based Etsy shop specializing in stickers and apparel, there is a lot to love in this edition of Favorite Things February 2022!

BOOK: ATLAS OF THE HEART BY BRENE BROWN
My friend Nikki suggested this read…and how could I resist? It’s a book about our emotions and mapping meaningful connection and the language of the human experience. More than a story, it’s a great coffee table book that can be picked up whenever and doesn’t need to be read all in one sitting or in a certain order. There are tons of good quotes and tidbits to consider incorporating into our lives for more meaningful connections. Though I bought it for myself for Christmas, it would make a fantastic gift for those friends you love to discuss the hard stuff with!
FOR HOME: LED LIGHTS
The kids all got LED lights for Christmas, and I decided I loved them so much, I wanted some too! A huge part of Hygge is having good lighting. I have tried to embrace that throughout my house with lamps and LED candles, and it has made a big difference in my wintertime mood. You just can’t be mad when the lights are soft — it’s like it welcomes the body to just slow down and enjoy the quieter season.
We bought these for the kids’ rooms {it’s a huge strand} and these for our basement doorways, which can be controlled to play along with music on your phone too!
DATE NIGHT FUN: DART BOARD
For Christmas, my husband and I nixed getting traditional gifts for each other and instead spent some money on date nights in. When we go out, we love places where you can play games, so we decided to get a dart board for home since it’s a game we both enjoy. We chose an electronic one so we didn’t have to think too hard while playing 😉
What an awesome gift it has been! We love heading to the basement for a game while catching up on life. It’s a great way to laugh and bond together, because let’s face it: Babysitters can’t happen every week, and time together is essential.
BEAUTY ITEM: EVA NATURALS SKINCARE
I struggle with a dry face in the winter, so I was thrilled to discover these natural skincare products after reading about them online. I looked at tons of products and it was quite shocking how expensive most are. {Ugh for capitalizing on women fearing aging.}
I have noticed since I’ve started using these, coupled with daily and nightly face moisturizer, my skin has been far less dry and my skin is brighter. Baby steps! I am going on 2 months and I still have more than half left. And for $20 for the set, it’s a great deal!
FUN & FASHION: BE NICE STICKER CO.
Two trends I can’t get enough of — fun stickers and t-shirts with inspiring messages. My friend Becky and her daughter Natalie live in Northern Michigan and started an inspiring Etsy shop to spread positivity.
Not only are the designs super cute, but the T-shirts are super soft too! Definitely look forward to buying more items from her!
