Since summer gathering season is upon us and I’ve gotten a few requests to post this, I’m sharing a fun, easy recipe today.
I love being married for many reasons, but one reason that stands out is all the new recipes I have received from my husband’s [giant] family during the past several years. I learned of this one awhile back and have made it for a few social occasions since and received rave reviews. I love it because it’s inexpensive to make, easy to prep in a pinch and tastes delish. Disclaimer: this is NOT healthy.
Health Bar Dessert Dip
8 oz. regular cream cheese, softened
¼ cup brown sugar
½ jar of hot fudge
½ bag of Heath Toffee pieces (can be found in the baking aisle)
Pretzel twists
8×8 pan (or a decorative plate)
DIRECTIONS
1. Mix cream cheese and brown sugar together until creamy. Spread into the bottom of a pan or plate.
2. Heat ½ of a jar of hot fudge in the microwave for 30 seconds or until warm. Layer on top of the cream cheese mixture. (Definitely lick the spoon after!)
3. Sprinkle approx. ½ of Heath pieces bag on top.
4. Serve with pretzel twists.
What are your go-to recipes for summer gatherings?
Watty says
What a way to start me off this morning! We’ve been on a pretzel kick lately too. Oh man. YUM!
Mrs. Weber says
It’s the perfect mix of salt and sweet! Gotta give it a try.
Dianna says
Looks good!
My go-to dish? Devilled eggs. Or is it deviled eggs? Anyway, they’re quick, easy, inexpensive!
Mrs. Weber says
Yum – good one – I love deviled (I think that’s how it’s spelled) too!
Jessica says
Oh my goodness! That is definitely a treat.
Mrs. Weber says
Yup – it’s easy on the wallet – not so much on the calories. That’s why I bring it places – it’s meant to be shared…so I don’t eat it all by myself!
Kim says
So how am I part of this giant family and have never heard or tasted this delicious treat?! I’m going to make it for camping next week! If I have time I’ll share some of my go-to summer faves…I’ve got some good ones 🙂 Keep the recipes coming!
Mrs. Weber says
Haha, KIm, it’s from the Weber side. Yes, please share your recipes. I need more to choose from – I feel like I bring the same things over and over.
Alysia says
Oh my goodness. This looks so good. This looks like the kind of thing I’d make “for the kids” and then eat it while they’re sleeping so I wouldn’t have to share…
Mrs. Weber says
Yes, I highly recommend it for a mass gathering so you don’t have to eat it all yourself 😉
Becky Babcock says
I MUST try this – Yum! My favorite is fruit pizza… it always seems ‘healthier’ when eating it because of the fresh fruit!
Mrs. Weber says
I agree! I’m totally going to make one for Fourth of July 🙂
Tina Kozak says
That looks so good! My summer go-to is orzo pasta salad with feta, parsley, red onion and lemon juice. It’s light, travels well and is super easy to make. Just mix everything together with some olive oil, salt and pepper. Doesn’t get much easier.
Mrs. Weber says
I love Orzo salad! I always thought it was more complicated than that. Going to have to try this recipe. Thanks, TK!
Kimberly says
Oh goodness that looks delicious!
Mrs. Weber says
It is. And so easy…that’s why I keep making it. I think I need to find a few more go-to recipes though!
Elena says
I could definitely see Charlie liking this! I may have to surprise him with it one night.
Mrs. Weber says
You should! It’s so easy. And since you can actually cook really well, I’m sure you can find a way to make it even better 😉
