Two weeks ago, I swapped out my t-shirts and shorts for sweaters and jeans. As I was thinking of how much I like to cuddle up in a soft sweater and fuzzy socks, I remembered what this time of year brings: Apples, pumpkins, cider, donuts and hay rides! I have six passes to Westview Orchards in Washington Township to make sure you have your fill of fresh cider, gourds and other fall treats.

I’ve written about Westview Orchard on my own blog before. It has become our annual spot for strawberries, cherries and apples. In fact, I take a photo of my girls in the apple orchard each year, blow it up to 16×20 and hang it over our kitchen table. I have to keep up that tradition!

Plus, there is so much more to do at Westview than just picking apples or selecting a pumpkin. There is a huge playground with lots of slides and even giant tunnels for kids and parents to climb and crawl through. Westview also boasts a large straw mountain and log obstacle course for those who dare to take the challenge. There are plenty of animals to pet, including donkeys, goats, ducks, chickens, a pony, Guinea hens, bunnies and chicks. The farm also has lots of fall-themed activities, including a Spookley the Square Pumpkin children’s maze, a six-acre corn maze, pony rides, an apple slingshot and wagon rides. This line-up joins the three black holes, indoor maze, jumping pillows and 40-foot slide that make up Westview’s regular activities.

Weekdays, activities are free for children less than 30-inches tall, $4 for children more than 30-inches and $3 per adult, with a $1 optional train ride. On the weekend, children under 30-inches tall are free and all people over that are $9.50. Pumpkins, apples, baked goods and other treats are available for sale at the farm.

  3. We went for the first time a few weeks ago and will go back again soon, my daughter had so much fun! They didnt have pony rides when we were there, but it was still pretty early!

  10. Fall is my favorite season!!! The leaves changing colors and the cool mornings with hot cider are amazing. I would love for my husband and myself to be able to take my daughter to Westivew Orchards. This was the first cider mill me and my husban went to when we were dating!

  18. My favorite thing about fall is getting getting in the car with the family, heading out on the road with no destination in mind, and discovering new places for pumpkins, squash and fall activities 🙂

  19. My favorite thing about fall is everything. I love Cider mills, Scary movies and taking the kids out trick or treating! Fall also means Pumpkin carving, which is one of my favorite things to do (I probably carve about 10 a year 🙂 and all the kids seem to enjoy them)
