Disclosure: I received a box of Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars for the purpose of this post.
I recently had the opportunity to try a snack bar from Nature’s Bakery — fig bars. I don’t really know what to say besides: OhMyLawdTheseAreGood.
I received a box full of their deliciousness and literally within three days, the entire box was gone. Of course, my logic was I had to try each flavor they provided several times before deciding how I felt about them. But really, I knew within a few bites that I loved them.
Even my adorable little neighbors were excited to try them after our UPS guys delivered them and gobbled a pack right up!
A few things: These are for snacking, so they I wouldn’t call them a health food per-say {110 calories/serving in the ones I tried}. However, they aren’t too shabby in the health department and they beat the heck out of Fig Newtons or any Nutri-Grain type bars, which are full of HFCS and {un}natural flavors and food dyes. I love that these do not have any horrid ingredients!
I was able to try the original fig, apple cinnamon and the peach-apricot. Truly, all were delicious, but I went SUPER crazy for the peach-apricot. I’m already looking forward to ordering some of the vanilla raspberry, too!
Other flavors include blueberry, raspberry and vanilla. You can find Nature’s Bakery fig bars at most major supermarkets that carry natural and organic products. You can also use their handy store locator to find their products near you. {They are at Kroger near me.}
A few facts:
- Fig bars are moist, soft whole wheat cake bars with a sweet fig filling and makes a great on-the-go-breakfast.
- Figs are one of the highest plant sources of calcium and fiber. They are also rich in copper, manganese, magnesium, potassium, calcium, vitamin K and antioxidants.
- They are cholesterol-free, dairy free and kosher.
- They are made in the U.S. and are non-GMO verified.
Lucky for them, I tried these babies and am in love. They will definitely be a staple on my Amazon list since they are the perfect food for me before running {I like a little sugar boost before my long runs}, or to pack in the purse for keeping the kids quiet snacking.

What are your favorite convenient foods when you’re on-the-go?
I love bars like these! They’re the perfect snack. My son calls them cookie bars and thinks they’re cookies… I won’t be correcting him anytime soon though.
They totally taste as good as cookies! I can’t wait to try the other varieties. So smart for them to do blogger outreach because I now may be an addict!
