Where are your favorite spots for a kid-friendly birthday party?
We just had my daughter’s 2nd Birthday party at The Sterling Heights Nature Center (Macomb). They provide a fully decorated party room for up to 70 guests, goodie bags for the kids and a special gift for the birthday girl/boy. They also do a live presentation where you learn about and are able to hold/pet toads, turtles and snakes as well as a scavenger hunt. If it’s nice out they even have a beautiful nature trail and park. I was very impressed with it and highly recommend it!

Great birthday ideas! Thank you so much for that list. We’re planning to visit Walled Lake and Farmington Hills this coming month for the 18th birthday celebration of my niece. I hope she’ll like it. Thanks for the inspiration.
For my son’s first birthday, we decided on a location in Rochester hills, MI called Boogie Babies. They have a neat play area for babies/toddlers which was great considering that my son wasnt walking at the time. There were costumes for pretend play and video games available for the big kids. It was perfect!

Great list! Another place to add is Milford and Lakeland High Schools in Highland, MI. They both have an indoor pool/splash park that they rent out rooms for parties. My daughter’s 3rd birthday party will be there!

I have an additional listing for you in Oakland County! The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan in Auburn Hills begins birthday parties on May 21st! Birthday Party packages include 45 – 60 minutes in a private party room plus 2 additional hours inside the attraction. Dependent upon the package you choose, pizza, beverages and cake are included as well!

I have used the Planetarium in Genesee County for a birthday party, loved them. Another to add would be For-Mar Nature Preserve, we went to a party there and they were fantastic. Thank you for the list!
SELCRA (Southeastern Livingston County Recreation Authority) is now offering birthday parties at the Pleasant Valley Church in Brighton Township. The facility includes a large interactive playset, bouncers, gaga ball, and other various activities. They are kicking their promotion off in their 2017 Spring/Summer brochure which will be released on Friday, March 24.
I think the best birthday party I had was at my own home. It was a Halloween themed party. All the kids dressed up, I had a Halloween themed Dairy Queen Cake and I went around to my neighbors and asked if they would hand out candy for me or if I could leave a bowl of candy on the front steps. One neighbor even got out Halloween decorations for us! The candy served as the party favor and trick or treating got us out of the house on a walk.

If you’re kiddos are interested in science, Mad Science of Detroit is a great location for all kinds of programming! They host birthday parties at their lab and they can come to your house or another location for the party. They also offer camps, special events, after school programs, and so much more! They’re located in Novi and host birthdays year-round.
