Oh man! Time is starting to fly and I am trying to squeeze in every possible major task I can before baby comes. We have been SO busy turning our home upside-down and purging things, painting all of our kid bedrooms and taking adventures as a family!
Speaking of adventures…We are heading to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks, and I am a bit nervous for the car ride — not just because of the kids — but because my bladder is the size of a peanut and I have to go quite often! The pain of it all is that I am so thirsty all the time now with being active with the kids. I don’t leave home without at least one giant Tervis full of water, and usually a bottle of water just in case! Making amniotic fluid is a lot of work ๐
Unfortunately though, my right leg has sprouted varicose veins, which are UGLY. Not too thrilled about those coming out before I get into my maternity bathing suit, but I did get a few with Karina and they went away post-pregnancy, so here’s hoping! With that said, I will be getting compression stockings this time around. Not the most attractive for summer fun, but I know it’s what I need to do to stay healthy since staying off my feet is not really an option.
Additionally, a few weeks back, I bruised a rib from coughing so much following a bad sinus infection. Talk about misery! I was sleeping horribly, but now am doing much better, even though I keep trying to roll on my belly at night. I miss sleeping on my stomach! Thankfully, a pregnancy pillowย just arrived for me to review, so I am looking forward to testing it out in the weeks ahead.
With all that said, I truly am feeling great right now, so I am trying to get things done.ย Baby boy’s closet is already starting to fill up and I’m excited to visit Ikea soon to nab some fun things for his nursery. We’re painting the room a light gray and adding lots of pops of primary color. I have been so thrilled to buy boyish things! I know a lot of people say girls are more fun to buy for, but I don’t think so at all. But, I do have to say, the selections for boys are much more limited, so I know I will have to get creative to get the room I am envisioning.
I have my glucose test next month and then a few weeks after that, I will find out what is going on with my placenta and if it has moved up where it should be. That appointment will determine how I can deliver. Either way, I am confident it will all work out as it should.
Pregnancy can be tough, but I thank my lucky stars I get to carry this little boy into the world. Feeling his little bumps and nudges when I’m rocking Karina or saying a goodnight prayer with Kinley is the perfect reminder of how he is sure to make his way into all of our hearts in no time.

Hi Lauren – you are looking great. ๐ I just received a promotional email about a compression product called Preggers, that seems more fashionable than the usual compression socks. I am not sure how pricing compares to regular compression gear, but it could be worth looking into! http://enews.pnmag.com/q/_oe–Gg_gCUmkesaY_r-0zjDVrk-pm7hv2o88L3NSLJGEbNQrZ5dcWdce

Thank you SO MUCH, Kara! I may look into contacting this company…Love the leggings they have! The compression thigh highs were $150 (!!!), but thankfully my insurance covers one pair and I only had to pay $15. They are definitely hideous, but already helping so much. TY for the fun tip ๐
