There is one thing that can absolutely ALWAYS be found in our pantry and fridge: SALSA. The hubby and I love it! We put it on all kinds of things from crock pot meals to eggs, tacos, and in cottage cheese for a low-calorie snack. We love trying different kinds — especially when they are locally made and we can pronounce every ingredient. Enter Little Diablo Salsa.
Little Diablo Salsa is literally made in my neighborhood here in Livingston County in Brighton, Michigan, and is 100% all natural. What does this mean? It’s vegan, gluten-free, chemical-free, no added sugars, low sodium, kosher certified and of course, DELICIOUS!
I loved this tidbit from the website: “Each jar of Little Diablo Salsa contains only fresh vegetables, seasonings and a little bit of magic.” Well, that magic certainly tastes good 😉
Little D sent me three flavors to try: Medium Chipotle, Mild Garlic and Mild Artichoke.
I cracked open all three so I could directly compare tastes. Initially, I went nuts for the Chipotle. It has a very smoky flavor, one that I found to be extremely unusual {in a good way} for salsa. However, after a few more minutes, I couldn’t take the heat. It’s the perfect salsa to eat while sipping on a margarita, but since no margs can happen due to a baby on board, I had to pull back my taste buds for a water break! Still, I couldn’t resist coming back for more later.
From there, I tasted the Mild Artichoke and Mild Garlic. I thought for sure I’d like Artichoke the best, but boy was I wrong. Don’t come kiss me now because I smell like massive amounts of garlic! But whoa. So good. I could have ate the entire jar of this stuff. I kept going back to the artichoke in between — because don’t get me wrong — it is delicious and definitely the most “tame” of the three, but it wasn’t my favorite. I loved the strong flavors in the garlic and how well it complemented the tortilla chips I was using {Meijer Multigrain are my absolute favorites!}.
I made my husband take the test as well and garlic was his favorite as well, with artichoke as the runner-up. I was surprised because he typically likes a lot of heat, so I thought he’d love the Chipotle. The smoky flavor wasn’t for him, though he kept munching on it anyway.
Take the Little Diablo taste test and see for yourself!

I would like the garlic best. If the heat is too much, try a small amount of sugar. Let it dissapate on the area of heat in your mouth, just let it dissolve. It breaks up the acids.
