I posted on my Facebook last week how I had the opportunity to visit Milford for the village’s Big Reveal of holiday-inspired storefronts. Many people responded and even mentioned my photos alone made them want to visit. {P.S. You need to go check out these photos of the event. So fun!}
I had baby boy in tow, so I couldn’t capture as many photos as I would have liked during the event, but I will say this: You all need to visit if you need to get into the Christmas spirit. For real. This downtown is beautifully decorated, has welcoming shops and lots of restaurants.
Which brings me to point #1: This is an amazing shopping destination! Some of my personal favorite stores are Your Nesting Place, Acorn Farm, Home Again Decor and After The Rain, but honestly, I could list about 10 others I adore as well.
It may be a tad tricky to see all the writing, but here is a great round-up of gift ideas that were provided to me by the village. These are just a few of the items available for purchase in Milford:
So many fun items, right? There’s jewelry, toys, home goods, quality shoes and more — it truly is a great place to shop for just about anybody on your list!
Here are a four more reasons to visit Milford during this holiday season:
2. Dinner’s On Us Program
Enjoy a complimentary meal in downtown Milford during the Dinner’s On Us program! From 5:30 – 9 p.m. each Thursday through Dec. 18, a few of Santa’s elves representing downtown businesses and community neighbors, will drop into the Main Street restaurants and pick up the tabs of randomly selected, unsuspecting patrons. Nearly 90 tabs throughout the season – to give back and give thanks to the visitors who make our downtown shopping district and businesses flourish. {How fun!}
3. Christmas Open House
On Dec. 4, Santa Claus is coming to town during Milford’s annual Christmas Open House. A community favorite, the seasonal event brings strolling entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday caroling, special promotions and deals at downtown stores and restaurants as well as a highly anticipated visit with Santa Claus in Center Street Mall. Shoppers will also find an array of the finest holiday décor, locally-made gifts, coveted women’s items and children’s toys. Whether you’re looking to deck your halls, treat someone special with elegant diamonds, or surprise the kids to a truly unique toy, the one-of-a-kind Village stores have it all. Plus, enjoy refreshments and snacks at many of the downtown businesses.

4. FREE Visits with Santa
Bring the kids for a visit with Santa Claus inside the Village Center Mall. After his grand arrival during Christmas Open House, the jolly ol’ elf will be listening to children’s holiday wishes every Thursday and Saturday through Dec. 20. Visiting hours will be 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
