I received a painting class at Painting with a Twist in Fenton in exchange for promoting the new location. Opinions expressed belong to me.
Last week, my mom and I went on the best mother-daughter date. We went to Painting With A Twist’s newest location in Fenton, Michigan.
In case you aren’t familiar, Painting with a Twist is the destination to go for a fun night of painting, which is guided by a local artist. All materials are provided — the twist is that you can you can also bring your favorite bottle of wine. Woohoo!
How great are these rules to follow?
Upon arrival, we found our seats in the classroom and put on an apron to keep our clothing from getting painted on. At the table were paint brushes, a cup to clean said brushes, a paper plate palette of colors and enough space to house a glass of wine, which was uncorked for us {and must be done so by law}. I also surprised my mom with some delicious chocolates since you cannot go wrong with wine and chocolate on a girl’s night out!
Our instructor for the night was Tessa and she was fantastic. Her bubbly personality and 90’s music playlist had us all feeling amped to do some art. It was really fun watching her work, and she gave us great tips along the way, too.
The studio is set-up like a classroom, but there is also cameras on the instructor so everyone can see how she is painting and easily follow along. The paint is acrylic so it goes on easily and dries quickly. There are also hair dryers throughout the room, which we used to dry our backgrounds before continuing on to the next step.
I absolutely love this idea for a party — with girlfriends, your children {recommended for ages 8+}, a birthday party for kids or adults, a company outing, or more. The options for the types of groups are endless. I also love that you can select your own painting from their gallery of 2,000 choices. There are two and three-hour classes available and there also is a private room for parties.
This painting class is next on my list for our basement. Super fun, right?
At the end on our session, my mom and I felt like we were real artists, and were impressed at how easy it felt. I even decided to put my painting on display. Such a fun way to spruce up the look of your home!
I highly recommend trying a painting class with Painting with a Twist in Fenton. Gift certificates are available, too. Perfect for a present for the hard-to-buy-for types. 😀
If you’ve never been to Fenton, it’s one of my favorite small cities in Michigan to visit. For dining out options beforehand, a few of my local favorites include The Laundry, Sagebrush Cantina and the Fenton Fire Hall.
Follow Painting with a Twist in Fenton, Michigan on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest. New paintings for the following month are released on the 15th, so be on the lookout, and plan a fun night out soon!
