A Halloween tradition my kids love every year is our annual neighborhood “Boo-ing.” In case you aren’t familiar, to “Boo” someone means to drop off a Halloween-themed gift anonymously. It’s such a fun way to spread some Halloween cheer, and get to know your neighbors a bit in the process. However, you do not have to live in a neighborhood to make it happen; you can boo friends and family, too.
Today I’m sharing 80+ Halloween Boo Basket Ideas!
Here’s how Boo-ing works:
- You can start the fun, or you could be a recipient.
- Someone leaves you a basket of goodies on your porch anonymously.
- You hang a “We’ve been boo-ed” sign on your window/door to indicate you have received items. {There are TONS of cute options to print from Pinterest}
- In turn, you purchase gifts to pass along to two others/families.
- The cycle continues spreading joy all the way up to Halloween.
It’s so fun to give and receive! It makes our day each year!
In case it’s a new concept to you, I wanted to make a list of some of my favorite gifts through the years. You can absolutely be crafty and really get into it, but that’s not me 😉 For any of you who just want to head to the store, but come up with something fun {besides the most obvious item — candy}, this list is for you. Budget is up to you, but I typically spend around $15 per house.
My favorite stores for Halloween items are Walmart, Target, Dollar Tree and Amazon {some affiliate links below}. Start with a fun inexpensive bucket or bag and fill it with your items as you shop. Have fun!
