I was provided with admission to Glenlore Trails. All opinions expressed belong to me.
If you’re a Christmas lights lover like I am, a walk through the magical holiday lights Glenlore Trails in Commerce Township just may be the adventure for you this season!
When reviewing all the local holiday events out there, there was one that stood out — the outdoor interactive light show called “Aurora” at Glenlore Trails in Commerce Township, Michigan. I had seen several friends enjoy their Halloween event, and figured it may be even more magical decked out for the holidays.
For starters, tickets are purchased in time slots ensuring plenty of proper social distancing. Masks are also required {bonus: they are great for staying warm!}, and they even do a touch-free temperature check before heading in. I felt 100% safe at this event and I commend them for following protocol to keep us all safe.
Plus, let’s be real — lower crowds means it’s a more pleasant experience in my book because we sure needed to stop a lot for some “oohs” and “ahhhs!”
The half mile trail isn’t paved, but it’s stroller-friendly and fit for kids and adults of all ages. The path winds through the woods, and has more than 12 different stations throughout. The amount of lights and colors were beautiful!
This show was unlike anything I’ve seen before. We loved being able to walk through it versus doing a drive-thru event. It took us 35 minutes to go through. I only regret not going a bit slower!
I loved an area called Astral Halls. The music, the lights, the vibe…so cool!
My kids enjoyed an area called the Celestial Clearing the most…It was so gorgeous! Photos and videos don’t do it justice but just think about being surrounded by thousands of twinkling lights. There were some talking trees shortly after that, too!
Overall, we really enjoyed getting bundled up and taking a gorgeous walk through the woods. If you’re looking for something truly unique to do this season, this event is for you!
Admission, Hours + Location
Entrance to this event is $20 for ages 13+, $10 for youth, and free for children ages 3 and under. As a family of five, that can add up quick, so if budget is a concern, it would also make for a great date with just one child. You can purchase hot cocoa, coffee and even spiked drinks at the entrance, too.
The event is open Thursdays through Sundays only, until January 10, 2021. Many nights are already sold out, so make sure to purchase tickets in advance if you’d like to go.
You can find the event at the Multi Lakes Conservation Association located at 3860 Newton Rd., Commerce Charter Township, MI 48382.
If you’re not from the area, head out early, grab some takeout from a local restaurant and hit up Scarlet’s Playground, which is nearby and looks amazing.
Have so much fun if you go!
