From an Anti-Racist read for young adults to my favorite Greek chopped salad and more, check out my favorite product picks for March 2021 below!
Once again I am sharing some of my favorite products that are recent or longtime favorites. Life is so much better when we share the good stuff, isn’t it? Feel free to chime in with your favorites too!
BOOK: This Book Is Anti-Racist {YA Nonfiction}
In our house, we discuss tough topics and one that has been in the forefront of my mind during the past year as my kids grow older and process the world, is racism. I picked this book up from the library, and had it in my Amazon cart by the afternoon because it was that good and I knew I would want my kids to read it in a few years. It’s geared toward young adults, yet I found myself learning TONS too.
The information is easy-to-digest, with vivid illustrations, quotes, activities, suggested reading, and actionable steps to take do the work and become anti-racist. It’s a must read in my opinion. Check it out at your local library or purchase here {affiliate link}.
BEVERAGE: Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea from Harney & Sons
I chat about coffee a lot, but honestly I love tea just as much! This tea is soooooo good — if you enjoy cinnamon flavors that is. I love that I don’t need to add any sweeteners to it because it’s naturally sweet. It’s the perfect afternoon pick-me-up {it does have a bit of caffeine}. Unfortunately both of my suppliers no longer carry it, so I need to purchase it on Amazon {affiliate link}. If anyone sees it in stores, let me know!
I also drink tea so much that I am transitioning to loose leaf tea since it is a cost savings and is better for the environment. I’m always looking for new teas to try, so please let me know your recommendations.
TREAT: Alllll the Aldi Chocolate
In case you didn’t know this secret, Aldi has the BEST chocolate for the BEST prices! I usually treat myself to one of these Moser chocolate bars once a day — each pack comes with 5 individually wrapped bars, perfect for a little treat that has some portion control. Most of their chocolate is made in Europe, so it’s made with good ingredients.
MEAL: Chopped Greek Salad from Red Olive
My husband recently said “Why aren’t all salads chopped?” and I have to say I agree! When everything is made bitesize, it’s so much easier to eat, and better for ingredient distribution. My neighbor turned us on to just buying a large salad from Red Olive for a meal or to bring to gatherings. You can add protein or not, and dressing and beets come on the side so it lasts a day. And Red Olive has the best Greek dressing out there! Sharing this hot tip since it’s a Michigan-run chain with lots of locations in metro Detroit. Go try it!
PODCAST: The Moth
I am a podcast junkie, but I’ll be honest — I don’t always listen consistently, so sometimes that can be an issue if I am listening to a series that builds off of the previous episode. I started listening to The Moth a few years back and it has been my go-to ever since. In fact, I like to call it my laundry soundtrack because I always listen to it when I’m folding clothes!
The Moth is a non-profit group dedicated to the art of storytelling. In each podcast episode, two or three storytellers take the stage at a live event and tell a story about their life that is about 10 minutes long. Some stories make me laugh, some make me cry, but all of them make me love humans for the messy, crazy, and wonderful people we are. {And you betcha I nabbed a ticket to the event coming to Detroit. I’m hopeful it doesn’t get cancelled!}
What’s on your radar for awesome things this month? Let me know!
