If you’re looking for a holiday event that truly has it all, the Canterbury Village Holiday Stroll may be the event for you!
Situated in Lake Orion, Canterbury Village is a designated historical landmark that spans more than 21 acres on what once was part of the old Scripps Farm. The Village is host to 14 specialty shops and has many unique features. When decked out for the Holiday Stroll, it’s like stepping back in time to enjoy a classic Christmas!
Our Experience at the Canterbury Village Holiday Stroll
We started our evening with an easy check-in and tickets scanned by phone. We were greeted by carolers, a giant Santa, and a roaring fire. It truly set the tone for a beautiful evening.
There were indoor bathrooms near the entrance with a baby changing station if needed.
We strolled through the village, taking time to pop inside some of the cute stores selling all kinds of great gift ideas and locally made items. There were also several spots to stop for food or hot chocolate, at an additional cost.
We walked through, checking out all the different scenes. Along the way, we spotted The Grinch, Gingy {gingerbread man}, Snoopy, Minnie Mouse, Frosty, elves at the toy shop, and even Santa himself! My kids said it was like Christmas Disney World 😉 {P.S. Santa’s personal mailbox is also available to accept letters from children to be delivered directly to the North Pole.}
Throughout the village, there were tons of displays including a musical Christmas tree, an entire area dedicated to various snowmen, a Frozen-themed area, an old-fashioned indoor carousel, and more. There was lots to see and do! I’d recommend spending about 1.5 hours here to experience it all.

Overall we thought this was a really neat event with lots of fantastic photo opportunities that had a little something for everyone. Definitely make some plans to check it out this holiday season!
Note: The Magic of Lights is a short 12-minute drive away and Meadow Brook Hall is 19 minutes away, so this is a great one to loop together for more fun! See list of Christmas events here for more ideas this holiday season.
I attended a media preview for this event and received free admission. All opinions expressed belong to me.
