I cannot believe it has officially been one entire year of blogging. I secretly hoped I would make it six months and not run out of things to say…Now, I think I could probably make it six years with all the ideas I have – just very little time to get them all written!
It has been an amazing journey and I’ve definitely come along way from my first post. I’ve laughed and cried while writing posts. I’ve constantly driven my husband (and probably 80% of the people in my life) nuts with blog ideas and photo opportunities.
I can honestly say blogging has made me a happier and more confident person. I’ve met tons of new friends – in-person and exclusively online, made connections with amazing companies, and am slowly starting to discover what kind of blogger I want to be: ME. And by that I mean, as long as it’s on my terms, anything goes on here whether it’s giveaway, recipes, ramblings or inspirational. Variety IS the spice of my life.
For fun, I decided to look at the past year’s stats because lets face it, it is fascinating stuff!
#1 searched post: Summer Bucket List (apparently my not-so-creative title worked Google magic) #2 most searched: my recipe for Crock Pot Broccoli Soup and #3 is my recipe for Tex Mex Dip.
#1 post for comments: Singing In The Car (so incredibly embarrassing)
#1 pinned (aka has brought the most traffic from one specific source): DIY Baby Wipes
#1 spot people click on my page: My Twitter page. Another spot that gets a lot of love is my “Great Neighbors” page, which highlights some fab Michigan bloggers.
Although the stats aren’t anything to snuff over, I still have many other posts I’ve just enjoyed writing and love looking back on. A few of those include: My Birth Story, Letters to My Daughter – The First Weeks and Where I’m From.
Then there’s the amazing opportunities Little K and I have been afforded thanks to blogging. I’ve gotten to live out my childhood dreams many times over doing crazy fun things like riding inside the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile, attending the circus, Disney on Ice and Sesame Street Live. As someone who used to be on the other end of this outreach, I couldn’t be happier to be contacted by PR people who understand the power that moms, blogs, and social networking has.
What other 8-month-old can say they have ridden in the Wienermobile?!
On a professional level, I’ve been contacted for a job due to my efforts shown here and on social networks with an awesome company, proving you can make money just by being who you are and doing what you love. And I also have helped to create Detroit Bloggers with two other amazing female bloggers, Elena and Becks.
Overall, I think this has been one of the best years of my life and I owe much of it to blogging (and to my awesome supportive husband, Little K and baby girl #2 on her way!).
Thank you all for listening, commenting and sharing my posts during the past year. You fill my heart every single day.
What are your favorite kinds of blog posts to read: Heartfelt? Deeply personal? Recipes? Giveaways? Reviews? Rants? Let me know!

You’re welcome! Aww you’re so sweet. I don’t think you live too far away from my parents. They live in Mishawaka, IN (where I grew up). It’s near South Bend.

Congrats on your 1 year blog-o-versary! Remember when we first started our blogs on Blogger and we used to write about the most random stuff? Haha, so old school.
Mrs. Weber says
OMG, I know! I look back on it once in awhile. There’s some good stuff there, just very random. Very thankful to have figured out this WordPress stuff – it’s so much better on here!
