Now open for 2024! Read details about timing in the post below.
One of our favorite Christmas traditions of the past several years has been visiting a magical Christmas house in Brighton Michigan.
We bundle up in our pajamas, grab a thermos of hot cocoa and a baggie of cookies and mosey around town admiring all the amazing tinkling lights along the way.
Eventually we find ourselves in the gated community of Hilton Pointe in Brighton. Just seeing these houses without lights is quite a sight as the homes on the street are mansions, according to my kids ๐
The most magical house of all is tucked at the end of the street. Believe me when I say it’s hard to miss the 40,000+ lights decorating the lawn and the parade-worthy statues outside, including a Santa, train with a Christmas countdown, a snowman and more. It truly is a sight to behold.
The most magical part, however, is that this house has a secret in with the North Pole! My kids suspect the mailbox is actually a portal directly to Santa’s desk. I honestly think they may be right.
Children are encouraged to drop their letter to Santa in the mailbox {with a return address} with the chance of getting a response right on Santaโs custom letterhead.
Even the envelope the letter comes in is charming. We have loved collecting them each year. I love that Santa always mentions siblings too. I have a feeling it’s one of the reasons my youngest is still hanging onto Christmas magic, and for that I am grateful.
Special mail can be dropped off between Thanksgiving and December 10 this year.ย Do not hesitate though as if they are overwhelmed, it WILL close before that date!
The house itself can be viewed in all its Christmas glory through December 29, 2024.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because the house is located in a gated community, the hours are 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. daily ONLY. You cannot access the home during the daytime.
The address:
3382 Hilton Pointe Ct., Brighton, MI
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Santa and all the elves that make this house possible. Itโs such a season-maker for our family, and many others! Thank you for blessing our community with such a magical place.
Have so much fun if you visit and PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL so this can continue!

We went to the house with the lights just for this event and the gate was closed. Nobody could get in.
Mrs. Weber says
The post has been updated to reflect the closure. I am so bummed it had to close. I’m hopeful they can return before the end of the season!

They unfortunately had to cancel for tonight and are hoping to open as soon as issues are resolved. Those issues are: people being disrespectful to the neighborhood, tire marks in grass of the lawns of multiple houses, damage to the display, people climbing on display and trampling through yards, and traffic issues (in/out of the gated community).
They are hoping to get everything resolved and open back up soon.
Mrs. Weber says
Thank you for chiming in! I just updated the post to note the closure. I am so disappointed to hear about the issues ๐ I hope it can open again soon.
Kelly says
Was it just closed for Sunday, 12/6 or is it still closed today Monday 12/7 and the rest of the week moving forward! We were going to head there tonight, Iโm glad I saw this post. How unfortunate that people are being disrespectful to the property and surrounding houses! That is so disappointing!

Same here, we were ready to eat dinner and pack the kids up. Still closed??
Mrs. Weber says
Hope you can make it over there now that it’s back open ๐
Mrs. Weber says
It is back open, so I hope you can make it this week ๐

are the lights on or no
Mike Canepa says
We just stopped by and gates are closed again. More issues?
Mrs. Weber says
Hi Mike! I saw today that they had to close tonight due to an overwhelming amount of letters — 2,500! I have heard it will be back open tomorrow for lights only. If you are local and need mailbox drop-off location, I know there is a mailbox right in Scofield Park in Howell that is taking letters through tomorrow as well.
Mrs. Weber says
Sounds like they needed to close for tonight due to an overwhelming amount of letters. I believe it will be back later this week for the lights only. Santa has to have time to get those letters back from the North Pole ๐
Judy says
Thank you for doing this for the community. My husband and I are big Christmas fans and enjoyed it immensely. We already plan to return next year!
Brandt says
Is the display up until the end of December.
Cecilia says
Is this still going on? And what address do you put in the envelope to get to Santa?
Mrs. Weber says
You just need to include your return address if you’re dropping it into the mailbox here. They are accepting letters through December 10!
Stephanie says
Is this going on in 2024?
ETMC says
Yep, through the 10th, if memory serves.
