One of the best news stories for families the past year was how Blake Farms was taking over Erwin Orchards in South Lyon. Prior to this news, it was planned for the well-established farm to be plowed over to make room for a subdivision. It was devastating to those of us who grew to love Erwin’s! While many of us know South Lyon has grown by huge leaps and bounds, it felt like nobody was in support of this plan.
Then Blake Farms entered the picture to purchase the farm and its land. Known best for their sprawling properties in Armada and Almont in Macomb County, Blake Farms purchased the property to keep it as an orchard. And we are so grateful!
What To Expect During A Visit to Blake Farms in South Lyon
Much of it looked the same as the old Erwin’s, but they have definitely modernized it. Families are going to love visiting to let kids play, enjoy inflatables, ride trikes, pick seasonal items, ride a tractor, walk the corn maze, pet goats and more. There is plenty to do for an afternoon of fun!
To experience all the “Funland” attractions, which includes everything mentioned above besides any fruit picked, wristbands are $5.95 during the week and $8.95 on weekends.

A bag of a dozen donuts is $13.95 and a gallon of cider is $11.50 for the 2022 season.
Future plans include a produce farm stand serving Blake’s Hard Cider and wine and live music on weekends. Sounds great to me!
Overall, this spot is definitely worth a visit this cider mill season!

Oh wow – I used to go to Erwin’s with friends but I had no idea Blake’s purchased it. They have great donuts so I can see it being good!
