Community Theatre Locations in Southeast Michigan

Something I am very passionate about is the arts — especially drama. Growing up, I did several musical productions and have such fond memories of my theatre friends and family. I knew Broadway wasn’t my calling, but the life lessons and confidence I gained participating in my local community theatre were invaluable.

For this reason, I believe it is crucial to expose my children to the theatre world — whether it be through participating {some day!}, or just simply attending and admiring the thousands of hours of hard work showcased.

For about the price of a movie ticket, you can watch a production at a local community theatre. I love having the excuse to dress-up and see an imaginative world brought to life on stage.

Many of these community theatres also do children’s productions throughout the year, which is perfect for entertaining and inspiring little ones. Kinley, at age 3, has already seen nearly a dozen productions, and her interest has grown with each passing one. I am most excited to take her to see Wizard of Oz in a few weeks since she loves the movie. Nothing beats the stage show!

The following community theatre locations in Southeast Michigan can bring your family entertainment, or may be the perfect excuse to plan a date night out. I highly suggest you also follow the theatre nearest you on Facebook and get on their email lists so you can be in the loop with upcoming productions. Also, always be sure to check your local schools for productions as well.

Get out there and support our local theatres! :)

Please note a few of these are professional theatres, so ticket prices are a tad more.
